Leo's legs trembled as he stood, the overwhelming pain making him feel as though he might collapse at any moment, a sick mixture of blood and semen dripping down his legs. But the determination in Adrian's eyes fueled his resolve. He couldn’t afford to be weak now—not when Adrian had risked so much to find him. He continued walking, tears still dripping down his face.
Adrian's arm wrapped around Leo's waist, supporting him as they began to move. Each step sent jolts of agony through Leo's battered body, but he bit down on the pain, focusing on the sound of Adrian's voice guiding him forward. The room around them was dim, the shadows deep and menacing, but Adrian moved with precision, knowing exactly where to go.
"We need to get out of here before they realize what’s happening," Adrian whispered urgently, his eyes constantly scanning their surroundings. He had scouted the area before entering, but he knew that their window of escape was narrow.
Leo nodded weakly, too drained to speak, his focus solely on putting one foot in front of the other. He clung to Adrian's strength, letting himself be led through the maze of hallways. The air was thick with the scent of sweat and blood, a sickening reminder of the torture he had endured, but the thought of freedom pushed him onward.
They reached a heavy metal door, and Adrian carefully pushed it open, revealing a darkened alleyway outside. The cool night air hit Leo’s face like a balm, momentarily soothing the fire that raged in his wounds. Adrian quickly glanced around, ensuring that no one was in sight before stepping out, pulling Leo along with him.
Once outside, Adrian hastened his pace, guiding Leo toward a black sedan parked a short distance away. The car was nondescript, blending into the shadows, but it was their lifeline to safety. Every step felt like an eternity, but finally, they reached the car. Adrian opened the passenger door and carefully eased Leo inside, buckling him in with a tenderness that belied the urgency of their situation.
"Stay with me, Leo," Adrian urged, his voice calm but laced with worry. "We're almost out of here."
Leo managed a weak nod, his eyelids growing heavy as the adrenaline that had sustained him began to ebb. He watched through a haze as Adrian circled to the driver’s side, his heart pounding in his chest. As the engine roared to life, the sound was almost comforting, a promise that they were leaving this nightmare behind.
Adrian drove with a controlled intensity, his eyes constantly flicking to the rearview mirror, watching for any signs of pursuit. Leo could feel his consciousness slipping, the pain and exhaustion pulling him under, but he fought to stay awake, focusing on the rhythmic thrum of the engine and the steady hum of the tires on the road.
“Just hold on a little longer,” Adrian murmured, glancing over at him. “We’re going to get you fixed up, and then we’re going to make sure those bastards pay for what they did.”
The conviction in Adrian’s voice was a lifeline, grounding Leo in the here and now. He wanted to respond, to say something to show that he was still with him, but all he could manage was a faint nod. The darkness was closing in, but with Adrian beside him, Leo knew he wasn’t alone.
As they sped through the night, the city lights blurring past the windows, Leo finally allowed himself to succumb to the darkness, trusting that Adrian would keep him safe.
