Lavone, a beautiful girl of 16 years stepped out onto the balcony which looked over the garden. It had been a year since she had made herself wealthy, which made this not only a happy day to celebrate, but also a day of unpleasant memories.
The unpleasantness of this day was not because it was difficult to make it to this level (though it was), but because of what drove her to do it.
"Madame, a letter"
Turning to the butler behind her, Lavone snapped out of the trance she had been in.
"Oh! Ah, thank you, Jeffory."
Handing her the letter, Jeffory replied, "Of course, my lady. Are you okay? You seem a little.. ah.. never mind."
"Don't worry. I'm perfectly fine."
Once the butler left, Lavone went down to the garden to read the letter.
"'Dear Lavie.' Hm, this seems to be from family. 'I heard about your newfound wealth and fame, and I hope it didn't make you forget me. It's alright if you have, I always have bad luck. The city is so quiet without you. I wish I could have done something back then. Maybe I could have. I somehow got into the Knights, so I think my luck is starting to not be so bad! I have some time off, and I'll be traveling to participate in the Sabzeruz festival coming up, and I hope I can visit you and we can catch up while I'm there. Remember, there's always room for you on my Adventure Team. Benny.'"
Lavone sat on the grass.
"Wow, Benny still remembers me."
