Instinct kicked in as the monster lunged at me. My adrenaline surged, and I barely managed to dodge its initial strike. My heart raced, pumping adrenaline through my veins as I scrambled to grab my rusty sword. The small hollow offered barely four feet of space, making it feel cramped and suffocating. My hands shook uncontrollably as I fumbled for the weapon, struggling to grip the awkward, unwieldy sword.

I have no idea how to fight this thing; this is the first time I've ever heard about it—not even in games, I thought, feeling utterly powerless. My only combat experience had come from books and movies—experience that seemed woefully inadequate in this real, life-or-death moment.

Why did I think this would be a fun and relaxing adventure in the first place?! I lamented, my mind racing as the creature prepared for its next attack. The fear clawing at my insides was almost as unbearable as the monster itself.

With no time for second-guessing, I drew upon the basic moves I had seen in movies. My actions were reckless and untrained, driven purely by desperation. I swung the rusty sword, my aim wild and frantic. The cramped space made each swing clumsy and awkward, the blade slicing through the air with little precision.

"I have to get this right," I muttered to myself, my voice trembling with fear and determination. The monster lunged again, its fangs bared and legs skittering in a nightmarish dance. My heart raced as I tried to fend off the creature, each movement a frantic attempt to block its relentless attacks.

The fight became a brutal, chaotic struggle. I struggled to maintain my footing in the confined space, my movements clumsy and erratic. Despite my efforts, the snake-like creature managed to sink its fangs into my right hand. A sharp, searing pain shot through me, causing me to gasp and stumble.

The pain was excruciating, like molten metal searing through my flesh. I cried out, my vision blurring from the relentless agony.

"Ahh! F-cking hell! I-I th-think it has venom; I can feel it spreading too fast!" I screamed, the pain igniting a frenzy of terror in my mind. I'm going to die for real.

The burning sensation coursed through me, making me feel as though I was on fire from the inside. Despite the agony, I forced myself to stay focused, my survival instincts pushing me forward.

Desperation spurred my actions. I reached for the knife strapped to my belt, my hand trembling with pain and fear. With a shaky grip, I managed to drive the knife into the monster's soft underbelly. The blade sliced through flesh, and the creature let out a piercing, spine-chilling scream. The sound echoed around me, and my heart sank as I heard the ominous scratching of other monsters outside, their claws scraping against the tree's bark.

Shit! I need to get out of here! I thought, my mind racing. Without wasting another moment, I scrambled up the tree trunk, the pain in my hand making each movement a struggle, almost as if it was going numb. I fought through the burning sensation with sheer willpower, desperate to reach the top for safety.

Glancing back, I saw the monster below still writhing in pain. Its appearance was even more terrifying up close, its scales gleaming with a malevolent sheen. If I leave it here, it might come after me for revenge, I realized, my fear mounting.

Taking a deep breath, I climbed down swiftly yet clumsily, gripping the rusty sword tightly. At the base of the tree, I faced the wounded monster, adrenaline and fear merging into grim determination. I plunged the sword into its body repeatedly, each thrust driven by a mixture of anger and survival instinct. Blood splattered across my face and clothes, a gruesome testament to my struggle.

The gore was unsettling, but there was a dark satisfaction in finally defeating the creature. As its life ebbed away, I felt an unexpected burst of energy, a sensation that seemed to wash away the venom's effects. The pain in my hand began to fade, replaced by a strange clarity. I took a moment to catch my breath, my heart still racing.
