Before I could fully process the transformation, the ground beneath me began to tremble violently. My heart leaped into my throat as I realized the rat-like creatures below had noticed the commotion and were charging up the tree. The distant thud of their claws against the bark echoed through the hollow space, growing louder with each passing second.

"Great, just what I needed," I muttered, frustration and fear mingling in my voice. My gaze darted around the tree, searching for an escape route. A nearby branch caught my eye, about fifteen feet away. It looked like a long jump, especially with the surge of energy still settling in my body. If I can't take them all on, I need to get to that branch, I thought resolutely.

With my heart racing and my pulse quickening, I grasped my rusty sword tightly, the metal feeling reassuringly solid in my hand. Time to put this new... whatever this is... to the test, I thought, my resolve hardening despite the chaos surrounding me.

I took a deep breath and steeled myself. Crouching low, I felt my legs tense, preparing to leap. The tremors from the creatures below made the branch sway precariously, heightening my sense of urgency. With a fierce push, I launched myself into the air, my jump fueled by a potent mix of fear and determination. Here goes nothing, I thought, my stomach twisting with anxiety.

As I sailed through the air, a nervous laugh escaped me. "Well, if I die, at least I'll have a story to tell," I said with a shaky chuckle, trying to ease my frayed nerves. Oh for Pete's sake, don't lose your sanity! I chided myself as the branch loomed closer. I braced for impact, hoping my newfound abilities would be enough to carry me through.

Just as the first rat creature lunged at me, I felt an astonishing lightness in my movements. The marble's mysterious energy had gifted me with a newfound agility that felt almost supernatural. I ducked and dodged with a grace I had never known, my reflexes sharp and quick—like I was dancing rather than fighting. This is incredible! A thrill of exhilaration coursed through me despite the danger. It's like I'm on a whole new level!

The combat was intense and visceral; each dodge felt like a hair's breadth from disaster, and every strike was a powerful counterattack. My movements flowed with a grace I didn't know I possessed, propelled by an energy that buzzed beneath my skin. I jumped and swung with newfound speed and strength, taking down one rat-like beast after another. Their claws and bites came dangerously close, but I evaded them, my body reacting instinctively to the danger. I'm not just fighting—I'm practically floating around them, I thought, my mind racing with a mix of awe and fear.

"Holly shi—! This is insane!" I muttered under my breath as I narrowly avoided a swipe from one of the creatures. My excitement surged, intertwining with a fierce determination to survive. The adrenaline rush heightened my senses, making every movement feel sharper and every breath more vital.

With each rat-like beast I felled, their bodies thudded to the ground, leaving behind glowing orbs of energy. My heart pounded from the intense fight as I quickly collected them, feeling the weight of the battle still coursing through me. What's this energy—what does it all mean? Questions swirled in my mind even as I remained focused on the task at hand.

I fought with every ounce of my newfound strength, each strike landing with a satisfying thud as I took down three of the rat-like creatures. With each one that fell, three glowing orbs of energy materialized at their side. A mix of curiosity and relief washed over me when I noticed that these bodies didn't vanish like the centipede snake's had. Instead, they lay sprawled on the ground, slowly decaying. Maybe it's because they were so weakened by its own venom, I speculated, trying to make sense of this bizarre phenomenon.
