Nezuko walked down the school corridor, her backpack slung over her shoulder, Miyuki, called out to her.

"Hey, Nezuko! You have to come and see this!"

Nezuko turned towards Miyuki, curious.

"What is it? What's up?"

"Just look!"

Miyuki took Nezuko's hand and pulled her along towards a group of students, who were all gathered around something. As they got closer, Nezuko could hear whispers and exclamations from the crowd, and her curiosity only grew.

As they reached the center of the crowd, Nezuko could finally see what had everyone so hyped up. A tall, lean boy, with dark hair and sharp eyes, was surrounded by a group of girls, most of them giggling and whispering to each other.

Nezuko raised an eyebrow at the scene, not sure what the fuss was about.

Miyuki: "That's Muichiro Tokito. The new kid. From what I hear, he just moved back here from America."

Nezuko's heart did a little leap at the name. Surely it couldn't be the same Muichiro? The odds were too high for it to be a coincidence. She peered between the students, trying to get a closer look at the newcomer who had been the cause of the commotion.

She watched as the tall boy, Muichiro, seemed somewhat aloof and indifferent to all the attention he was getting. He looked up, as if sensing her gaze, and their eyes met.

Time seemed to stop for a few seconds as they looked at each other. The surroundings and the noise from the crowd faded into the background. The years had changed them, but there was no mistaking that face. It was him. It was really him.

A whirlwind of emotions hit Nezuko, and her heart seemed to do a somersault in her chest. She couldn't believe it. After all this time, he was back. He was here, standing just a few feet away from her. All the memories of their childhood friendship came rushing back, flooding her mind.

She parted her lips as if to speak, to say his name, but no sound could escape them.

As the day progressed, Nezuko found it hard to focus on her classes, her thoughts constantly drifting towards Muichiro. Her mind was a chaotic mess of memories, thoughts, and questions. She wondered if Muichiro had recognized her or if he remembered her at all. Her heart was a tumult of emotions, hope and anxiety interminging.

The hours seemed to crawl by until, finally, the end of the day arrived. The bell rang signifying the end of classes, and students started to pour out into the halls.

Nezuko's eyes widened as she saw a girl from the year above them clutching onto Muichiro's arm as they walked together. The sight caused a pang of jealousy to stab through her chest. She immediately scolded herself. She had no right to feel that way. After all, they haven't seen each other in 5 years. For all she knew, he might have a girlfriend.

But the promise.. Yes, they had made a promise, but so many years had passed. So much had changed. They had grown apart, and the world had moved on without them. It was foolish to cling to a promise a six-year-old who had made.

Nezuko's heart felt heavy with conflicting emotions. She wanted to approach him, to talk to him, but the presence of the other girl made her hesitate.

actually. She wasn't Muichiro's gf

The fact that the girl on Muichiro's arm wasn't actually his girlfriend didn't reduce the jealousy that flared up in Nezuko. She hated herself for it, but she couldn't help the pang of possessiveness she felt at the sight of another girl being so close to him.
