The soft glow of the studio lights illuminated Jungkook's face as he hunched over his keyboard, fingers dancing across the keys. It was well past midnight, but inspiration had struck, and he couldn't let it slip away. The melody that had been haunting him for weeks was finally taking shape, and with each note, he felt his heart race a little faster.
He knew exactly who this song was for, even if he'd never admit it out loud.
Lisa.
Her name echoed in his mind, matching the rhythm of the music he was creating. Jungkook had known Lisa for years, both of them rising stars in the K-pop world. They'd crossed paths at award shows, collaboration stages, and industry events. But it wasn't until they were paired up for a special performance six months ago that Jungkook realized just how much she affected him.
Her laugh, her dedication to her craft, the way her eyes sparkled when she talked about dance – everything about Lisa captivated him. And now, here he was, pouring all those feelings into a song he knew he'd never have the courage to show her.
Jungkook sighed, running a hand through his messy hair. He saved the progress on his computer and stretched, his muscles protesting after hours of sitting in the same position. As he stood up, his phone buzzed with a notification.
It was a message from Lisa.
Lisa: Hey, Kookie! 😊 You still up?
Jungkook's heart skipped a beat. He quickly typed out a reply.
Jungkook: Yeah, just working on some music. What's up?
Lisa: Oooh, anything good? 👀 I'm just feeling restless. Wanna grab a late-night snack?
Jungkook glanced at the clock. It was nearly 2 AM, but the thought of seeing Lisa made him forget about sleep entirely.
Jungkook: Sure! Meet you at the usual place in 15?
Lisa: Perfect! See you soon! 🏃♀️💨
Jungkook quickly saved his work one last time and grabbed his jacket. As he left the studio, he couldn't help but smile. Even if he couldn't tell Lisa how he felt, at least he could spend time with her.
The "usual place" was a small, 24-hour cafe tucked away in a quiet corner of Seoul. It had become their secret spot over the past few months, a place where they could escape the pressures of idol life and just be themselves.
When Jungkook arrived, slightly out of breath from his brisk walk, he found Lisa already seated at their favorite booth. She waved at him, her smile bright enough to outshine the cafe's dim lighting.
"Kookie!" she called out, using the nickname that always made his heart flutter. "Over here!"
Jungkook slid into the seat across from her, taking in her appearance. Even in a simple oversized hoodie and leggings, with her hair pulled back in a messy bun, she looked stunning.
"Hey," he said, trying to keep his voice casual. "Couldn't sleep?"
Lisa shook her head, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "Nope. Too much energy. I was practicing some new choreography and lost track of time. What about you? Still working on your secret project?"
