I slowly blink, a headache splitting across my head. It felt weird, I knew it was headache but it didn't hurt. I could sense pain but not feel it.
I looked down to see a blonde head laying in my lap, our hands intertwined, his second hand resting on my thigh. I smiled and used my unoccupied hand to stroke his pretty hair. I enjoy the peaceful look on his face. He really was gorgeous.
He was in sweatpants and a t-shirt. I wondered if her went home or someone brought him clothes, or if they were even his.
"He hasn't left your side for the past week." I turn to see my dad in the doorway. He looked more exhausted than usual.
"Is that how long I've been in here?" He nods.
"It should've been longer, you shouldn't have survived." I hum.
"I should've died a long time ago, and yet, here I am." I smile softly and look back to the hair under my hands.
"You should get some sleep, I'll wake Bakugo." He stepped towards us.
"Leave him. Please. He needs to sleep too." I see him hesitate but then nod and leave the room.
Katsuki's eyes blink open and look at me. His hands tightened. "I fucking hate you." He grumbles and hides his face in my legs.
I keep petting his hair, waiting for him to keep going. "I've barely known you a month and you've already almost died twice and made me watch. First we fall off a fucking five story building and you break at least fifteen bones. And then you get burnt alive, crushed to death, disemboweled, and your skin disintegrated off and make me play nurse while listening to you scream." I could hear his voice crack and feel droplets of water on my legs.
"I know, I'm sorry."
"How did they know you? Why'd they call you their toy? How did you survive?"
My hands stilled in his hair at the first question. "I-I don't think you want to know."
He sat up. His red rimmed eyes met mine. "I do. I want to know every single detail so that I can make them feel every shred of pain that you did."
I glanced down and then back into his ruby eyes. "Ok, but come here and give me the blankets." I opened my arms. He hesitated but gave in when I nodded encouragingly.
He pulled the blankets and sat next to me after I scooted to the edge to make room. I layed on his chest and wrapped my arms around his torso. He put a hand around my waist and held my hand with the other.
"Promise you'll stay after I tell you?" Silence.
"Yeah."
I took a deep breath. "Where to start... I was kidnapped. Dabi, he had the blue fire, found me healing some wounds I got from a couple goons. He had the bright idea to bring me to his boss, as a toy for them to torture as much as they wanted. Of course I didn't know that, he told me he had a place for me to stay, since I was living on the streets, thirteen years old, and out of ideas, I followed him. He brought me to a little bar, that's where I met Shigiraki, he had the hands all over his body.
"By then I figured out what they wanted with me, so I tried to make a run for it. Obviously, I didn't make it very far. I got dragged back and chained to a wall in a back room." I felt Kat tense underneath me. I squeezed his hand. "For the next year and a half I was their personal toy. Shigiraki mostly liked to make me scream, said it calmed him. Toga, she wasn't there the other day, she has knives and really liked blood. She wasn't really into torture, she'd just come by with a jar or bottle, slit my wrists, and drain my blood into them. Dabi was the wild card. Sometimes he'd just set me on fire and watch me burn. Sometimes he brought knives. Sometimes he was a little sexually frustrated." I smoothed Katsuki's clenched fist. "They fed me well enough because I had to eat to heal and I'd die if I didn't heal. I was never released though, I was always chained. The first time I was unchained was the day I escaped.
"They knew I could heal, but they didn't know about my actual quirk. I can copy quirks once I touch someone I have it for half and hour. But I can also keep them. If I'm exposed to a quirk for at least forty-eight hours I'll permanently have that quirk. The longer I'm exposed; the stronger the quirk. I took Dabi's and Shigaraki's quirks. Theirs are really strong. I have this other one too, I'm not sure what it is though. It feels gross. I took it from this guy who had new quirks every time they took me to him. We probably have a similar quirk.
"Anyway, Toga mentioned that they'd all be gone for a mission for a couple of days. I waited a day then used disintegration to get out of the chains. I was almost out when I heard someone on the other side of the door. I freaked and hid in my room, making it look like I was still chained up. Thankfully it was just Aizawa and Present Mic. They got me out and I've lived with him ever since. He adopted me a couple of days before school."
Katsuki remained quiet through the whole thing.
"Kat? Say something."
He stayed silent but wrapped me in a hug. "I'm sorry. I won't let them get you ever again, everything else be damned."
I smiled and closed my eyes, falling asleep.
