~The next day~

-Seokjin's Pov-

The morning sun barely peeked through the curtains as I woke up with a sense of excitement and anticipation. Today was a day I had been dreaming about for weeks...a day off from work, a rare chance to focus entirely on Namjoon without any distractions or stress. For once, I wasn’t heading into the office or dealing with endless tasks. Instead, I had a beautiful plan in mind to make this day as special as possible for the love of my life.

I had been saving up for months, every spare cent going into a fund meant for something meaningful. I’d been tempted to use the money for practical things, like fake passports to escape our current life, but I decided this was more important. Namjoon deserved one perfect day filled with joy and love, a beautiful memory to cherish before we had to leave everything behind.

After preparing everything meticulously, I loaded the picnic basket into the car. I had packed all of Namjoon’s favorite fresh fruits, sandwiches, pastries, and even a bottle of sparkling juice. I didn’t forget the cozy blanket, the bouquet of wildflowers, and the candles. I wanted today to be nothing short of magical.

As I drove to the field of flowers I had discovered a hidden sanctuary away from prying eyes and I couldn’t help but feel a rush of excitement. I imagined Namjoon’s face lighting up when he saw the place I had chosen. It was my little slice of paradise, and I wanted it to be perfect for him.

When I arrived and saw the field of vibrant wildflowers stretching endlessly before me, I felt a surge of relief. Everything was coming together beautifully. I set up the picnic area with care, arranging the food and the decorations just so. I wanted every detail to be just right.

Returning to our apartment, I found Namjoon lounging on the couch, engrossed in a book. The sight of him, so serene and content, made my heart skip a beat. “My love...” I called softly, trying to keep my excitement in check. “I have a surprise for you.”

His eyes lit up with curiosity, and he looked up at me with that adorable smile of his. “A surprise? What is it?”

“You’ll see...” I said, extending my hand to him. “Come with me.”

The drive to the field was filled with Namjoon’s excited chatter. I could hardly contain my own anticipation as I glanced at him, his enthusiasm so palpable it was almost tangible. When we arrived, I saw his eyes widen in delight as he took in the breathtaking sight of the flowers. It was everything I had hoped for.

“This is amazing...” he said, his voice filled with awe. “It’s like a dream.”

I couldn’t help but grin, my heart swelling with joy. “I’m glad you like it. I wanted to make today special for us.”

We settled on the blanket, and as we enjoyed the food, I watched Namjoon with a sense of contentment. His happiness was all that mattered to me. The afternoon passed in a blissful haze of laughter and love. I felt a deep sense of peace, knowing that I had managed to create this beautiful moment for him.

But then, as the hours passed, I noticed the sky darkening. My heart sank as clouds began to gather, and the first raindrops began to fall. I had hoped for a sunny day to match the perfection of the picnic, and now it seemed like everything was falling apart.

“I’m so sorry s-sweetheart...” I said, my voice tinged with regret. “I wanted today to be perfect for you.”

To my surprise, Namjoon looked up at the rain with a wide smile. “It’s raining...” he said, his eyes sparkling with delight. “I’ve always loved the rain.”

Despite my disappointment, seeing Namjoon’s joy made everything worth it. I felt a pang of regret for not being able to give him the perfect day I had envisioned, but his happiness was what truly mattered.

“It’s perfect because we’re together,” he said softly, reaching out to cup my face in his hands. “The rain just makes it even more special.”

Before I could respond, Namjoon leaned in and kissed me tenderly. The rain continued to fall around us, but in that moment, it felt like nothing else mattered. His kiss was full of love and warmth, making my heart swell despite the weather.

Namjoon then guided me to sit down on the blanket, and he nestled into my lap, wrapping his arms around me. “Let’s enjoy the rain together...” he said with a contented sigh.

I held him close, feeling the warmth of his body against mine. The rain became a gentle drizzle, and although it wasn’t what I had planned, it turned out to be even more beautiful in its own way. The field of flowers, glistening with raindrops, was still breathtaking.

As I held Namjoon in my arms, I realized that the day hadn’t gone as perfectly as I had imagined, but it had become something even more meaningful. It was a testament to our love...a love that found beauty in any situation, no matter how imperfect.

“I love you, sweetheart” I whispered, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. “Thank you for making today perfect just by being with me.”

Namjoon looked up at me with a beaming smile. “I love you too, Jinnie... And this rain? It’s our little piece of magic.”

We sat together in the rain, our hearts full and our spirits high. The day hadn’t gone as planned, but it had turned out to be a perfect memory, one we would cherish forever.
