CHAPTER SEVEN
━━━ 𖡺★☽⋆⋆❥ ✳︎✧ ━━━

I WALKED THROUGH the
hallways of the school building with Spencer by my side. It was free period, People were scattered around, chatting or just heading to somewhere.

Spencer glanced over at me. "What do you think about this booster party tonight?" he asked, his voice casual, but I could sense he was kinda curious.

I shrugged, adjusting my bag. "I don't know, but I hope it gonna be less
drama though." I answered honestly. "Yeah me too." Spencer nods.

As we walked further, something caught familiar my eye. Hailey was by the lockers, kissing someone who definitely wasn't Jordan. "Whoa," I muttered under my breath, surprised at the sight. "What?" Spencer asked, trying to follow my gaze.

"Nothing," I replied quickly. Spencer shrugged and continued walking, clearly not pressing for more details. I glanced back at Hailey, who was still engrossed in kissing the guy as we moved past them. Gross!

It hit me then—I had lost the date from Jordan. Which meant I was going as his date to the football booster party him. As we rounded the corner, I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. I paused for a second, fishing it out. Spencer noticed and slowed his pace.

I glanced down at the screen, it was a text from none other than Jordan.

FROM JORDAN:
Guess who's gonna have a date to the football booster party?

I let out a giggle, typing a quick response.

TO JORDAN:
Oh, really? Who could that be?

Almost immediately, another text buzzed in.

FROM JORDAN:
Funny, can't wait to see
you in a hot dress tonight x

Spencer leaned over, trying to sneak a peek at my phone. "Who you texting?"

I flinched at Spencer's question, her fingers nervously slipping her phone back into her pocket. "No one important," I muttered quickly, trying to sound casual. Spencer's eyes narrowed, clearly unconvinced. "Really?" His voice held a sharp edge. "Because you seemed pretty deep in that conversation just now."

She avoided his gaze, shrugging. "Just...a girl from class."

Spencer stepped closer, his presence looming. "You know you're a terrible liar, right?" I let out a small laugh, more out of nerves than humor. "I'm not lying, Spencer. Seriously."
