you brought your knees to your chest, resting your head on your knees. your eyes were droopy and you were eerily quiet.

your friends exchanged worried looks, both thinking the same thing. were you okay?

"[y/n]? it's almost time for school to start, are you that sad over winter break ending?" your friend tried to make a joke, expecting to hear the sound of your whining voice.

but they were met with silence.

yup. something was definitely wrong with you.

your friends placed the microphone on the table, their full attention on you instead of the karaoke on the large television.

the taller of the three pursed their lips before opening their mouth, "..are you okay?" they asked.

you solely nodded. that was enough to let them know you weren't okay.

your brunette friend softly hugged you. you melted in their embrace, feeling your throat tighten up. hugs were your weakness to spilling your secrets.

"heidi.. i don't know what i did wrong.." you mumbled against her chest, feeling the tears slide down your puffy cheeks.

heidi looked at you before turning to your other best friend. they both knew something was up.

"what's wrong? you know we're always here to listen to you." heidi wiped your tears with her fingers, staring at you with worried eyes.

you wiped your eyes, looking down at your hands that rested on your lap. "craig rejected me." you quietly muttered.

...

".. he bumped into my shoulder and told me he wasn't interested. i know it's dumb- i really thought i had a chance."

your lips quivered, feeling the warm tears well up in your eyes. you felt so humiliated and stupid. how could you be such an idiot? to think someone like him would like you.

you let out a soft gasp when you felt two bodies collide with yours. you fell to the ground, along with the two of your best friends.

"oof!" you winced at the contact with the cold floor, you didn't realize how freezing it felt now that you were snapped out of your thoughts.

your friend let out a big sigh, "it's not dumb [y/n], you're brave- confessing to craig despite knowing his reputation, you should be proud of yourself for expressing your feelings to him. even if he rejects you, so what? you're a bad bitch who doesn't need a rude, blunt hoe like him. you're strong girl [y/n], you'll realize how much you've missed out on when you stop paying your whole attention on craig." she literally said it in one breath, making you glance at heidi in worry. but she smiled at you, not fazed by the rapping coming from the tallest of the trio.

you sniffed, "thank you red..." you cracked a smile, the room instantly brightening now that the mood had happily shifted.

red smiled at you, ruffing your hair. you whined- "you're gonna make my hair messy!"

she grinned, "that's the whole point!" you laughed at the goofy grin displayed on her face, causing you to tear up. but for a different reason.

happiness.

"you know that's your reason you called a rude, blunt hoe right?" you tilt your head, looking at red.

she shrugged, not giving two fucks. "and i'll call him that again." she lazily smiled and rested her head on your chest, grinning when she felt your chest rumbling.

you laughed, "wow, okay!"

heidi yawned, causing you to yawn, which caused red to yawn. heidi giggled at the yawn train she caused and looked at the clock, realizing that it was only 4 in the afternoon.

she glanced at the window. the sun was already set and she could tell it was chilly outside with how hard the trees were swaying.

heidi twisted her body to pull the blanket towards her, unfolding it and making sure you and red were properly covered.

you let out a sigh, bringing yourself closer to both heidi and red. you felt so comfortable in this position, especially with the heat radiating off the two.

"i'm tired.." you yawned again, closing your eyes this time. a quick nap wouldn't hurt right?

heidi and red agreed, both of their eyes also closed from exhaustion. they both did sing out their hearts earlier anyways..

"my mom will wake us up later.." you mumbled.

you brought the two closer to you, placing your arms under their heads so that you could bring them close to you as possible.

red groaned, "it's getting too hot.." she complained, trying to break free from your hold.

heidi giggled, pulling you and red into a side bear hug. "noooo, you have to stay!" she dramatically exclaimed, her tired eyes becoming more obvious.

you pointed at her eyes with a smile on your face, "you look so dumb right now. just close your eyes.

heidi closed her eyes. she couldn't bring herself to scold you after knowing what happened between you and craig, also because she was tired as fuck.

the room became quiet after a while. the two were asleep, but you weren't. well, you were dozing off but your eyes were opened, staring at the ceiling.

"thank you for everything.." you whispered, the smile still on your face as you finally closed your eyes and dozed off to dreamland.
