Yuna ended her call with Hyun-soo and headed home from the office, the evening lights casting long shadows. Suddenly, Jungkook emerged from the darkness."Let me drive you home today," Jungkook offered, his deep voice commanding attention.
Yuna hesitated, unsure of Jungkook's intentions. "No, thanks. I'll walk."
But Jungkook's expression turned resolute. He grasped her wrist, his touch sending shivers down her spine.
"Come with me," he urged, his eyes burning with intensity.
Despite her resistance, Jungkook guided Yuna firmly to his car. He opened the passenger door and settled her beside him.
"Seatbelt," he instructed, his voice softening.
As Yuna fastened the buckle, Jungkook started the engine. The car glided smoothly through the streets, the silence between them thick with tension.
Yuna's thoughts swirled. Why was Jungkook being so insistent? And why did she feel drawn to him despite his overbearing behavior?
Jungkook's gaze flicked to her, his eyes searching. "Comfortable?"
Yuna nodded, avoiding his piercing stare.
Yuna's heart skipped a beat as Jungkook's words hung in the air. "Why did you ignore me at the café?" he asked, his voice tinged with hurt.
She hesitated, unsure how to respond. "I was busy," she replied, avoiding his gaze.
Jungkook's eyes narrowed. "You were avoiding me."
Yuna's cheeks flushed. "No, I wasn't."
The car slowed to a stop at a red light, and Jungkook turned to her. "Why did you leave my house that day?" he asked, his voice low and urgent.
Yuna shifted uncomfortably. "I needed space."
Jungkook's gaze searched hers. "I missed you," he confessed, his words sending shivers down her spine.
Yuna's breath caught. "Jungkook, I—"
"You know you're not safe outside," he interrupted, his expression serious. "Come with me. Let's go back to my house."
Yuna's voice echoed through the car, her words laced with desperation. "I'm safe, you're the one who's not safe with me! I'm the one who puts you in danger. Just leave me alone, or it will harm me!"
Jungkook's expression remained unfazed, his eyes fixed on the road ahead. "I don't care," he repeated, his tone resolute.
Yuna's frustration boiled over. "You don't care? You don't even understand what I'm saying!"
Jungkook's gaze flicked to hers, his eyes burning with intensity. "I understand enough. I won't leave you, Yuna."
Yuna's words tumbled out in anguish. "You don't know what I've done, Jungkook. Being with me will destroy you."
Jungkook's jaw clenched. "I'd rather die trying to save you than live without you."
Yuna's heart shattered at his words. He didn't understand. He couldn't.
Jungkook pulled up to Yuna's apartment complex, the silence between them thick with unspoken emotions.
"Thank you for the ride," Yuna said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Jungkook's gaze lingered on hers, his eyes searching. "Stay safe, Yuna."
Yuna nodded, feeling a pang of guilt for pushing him away.
Without another word, Jungkook stepped out to open her door. Yuna slid out, her heart heavy.
As she watched Jungkook drive away, Yuna felt a mix of relief and longing.
