Back On Track

For the past month, Emma has been very busy, she applied for a job in Storybrooke Hospital and studying for her nurse board exam. She did not want to rely on her parents forever for money and she wanted to make money. She wanted to get her life on track after Neal prevented her. She has a toddler to raise. She had to stop studying due to Neal had thrown her textbook out to stop her from getting a higher-paying job.

Her parents supported her decision to return to nursing. They took care of Henry as she studied. Killian brought Emma food to eat she studied at his pub when it was quiet or at her apartment. She even studied at the park, on the bench as Killian was playing with Henry, on the playground.

A few weeks later, Emma leaves the hospital with new scrubs. Killian was waiting for her by her yellow bug. She shows him the scrubs. "I got new scrubs." She smiles big.

"You did it!!"

"I passed my board exam!! I am officially nurse!!"

"That is brilliant, congratulations!!" He spun her around. They kiss.

She was surprised. The kiss was different. "I..."

"I am so sorry."

Emma kissed him back. He lifts her up and set her down. "I..I am sorry.."

"I like you more than just a friend love."

"I think of you more than just a friend. I like you." She smiles. He leaned and kissed her.

They enter the yellow bug. "We are dating?"

"Yes. I trust you. I want to take this slow"

"I am not going to break your trust."

"Now, I want to tell my parents."

"About us dating or your board exam?"

She chuckles. "Both. I will tell them about the board exam first. Then, the better news." She winks. He smiles big. She began driving home with Killian.

"What do you start?"

"I start next week."

"You will be a great nurse." They arrive at the apartment building. 

Henry sees his Mama first. "Mommy home!!"

Emma hugged her son. "Hi, kid!!" She holds her son on her hip.

"Killy here too!"

"Hi, little pirate!!"

"Killy, can we watch Peter Pan?"

"Yes, we can."

"Yay!"

Snow White arrives from her room. "Emma!"

"Hi, Mom. Where is Dad?"

"He is at the station. How was the board exam?"

"Well, I passed!!"

"My daughter is a nurse! Congratulations!!!" She hugged her daughter.

"Thank you."

"Mommy nurse!"

"Yes. I am a nurse!" She hugged her son. Emma and Killian smile at each other.

Snow White quickly noticed something between her daughter and Killian. "What else is going on?"

"Killian and I are dating!"

Snow White hugged her daughter. "I knew it!" She hugged Killian.

He smiles, "You are happy?"

"Yes!"

"Your husband..."

"He knows you are good for Emma." She gave her daughter a look. "I will give him a warning before you tell him."

"Thank you."

"Nana, bake cookies."

"We can bake." She carried her grandson to the kitchen.

He spilled some fo the flour on the counter and floor. He began crying and courched down. "I am sorry...do not hurt me..."

Emma went to her son. Snow White faced her grandson. "You are not going to get hurt for spilling flour. It was only an accident."

"Kid, we can clean the flour. That is all. There is no hurt for spillings here."

"Mommy."

She hugged her son. "You are not in any trouble. Nana is not mad at you."

"The key to baking Henry, it is to get messy. Messy is fun."

"No hurt for messy?"

"There is no hurting or hitting in this house or anywhere."

"No one ever should be hurt or yelled at for an accident."

"No one is going to get hurt anyone here." She hugged her son.

"You too not hurt?"

"No more hurt or yelling here. Your Nana and gramps never hurt me. They will never hurt you."

"Snow, I will help clean up the mess." He swept up the flour.

"Henry, you can help me put the chocolate chips in."

"I want to mix." He goes to his Nana. She sets her grandson on the counter.

Killian helped Emma up from the floor. "How about we watch a movie?"

"Good idea."

David arrives from work. "Hi, Emma. I am on my lunch break. I want to hear about your results "

"Hi, Dad." She hugged her father. "I passed my board exam!"

"My daughter is a nurse!" He hugged his daughter. "Congratulations."

"Thank you, Dad." She looked at Killian.

"There is something else? What is it?"

"Killian is my boyfriend."

He went to Killian. "Be good to my daughter."

"I will never hurt her like Neal did." David glared at him, I got my eyes on you.

"Gwamps, Nana and I bake cookies."

"Cookies!" He tickles his grandson.

Emma held her boyfriend's hand. They went to the living room area.

"What movie should we watch?"

She has been watching toddler shows with her son, Henry loves watching Blue Clues, Between the Lions, Rugrats, Little Bear and Franklin."I am not sure. I have been watching a lot of preschool television shows with Henry. I have not watched a movie in a while."

"What is your favorite movie?"

"The Princess Bride."

"Aye, that is what we shall watch." Emma turned on the television.

The couple snuggled together, watching Emma's favorite movie. SnowWhtie was happy seeing her daughter happy.

"I still have my eye on him."

"He makes Emma happy."

"Killy is good gwamps. He is gweat."

He hugged his grandson. "You are right, Henry." He knows his grandson was looking out for his Mom who was treated awfully by his biological father. They hear Emma laughing.

"David she is happy."

"I know." He does not want to admit that Killian is making his daughter happy, he does not went his daughter to get hurt. He smiles at Killian and Emma.

Emma playfully throws popcorn at Killian. "We are supposed to be watching the movie."

"We are. You started it."

"You did." Emma laughs. He hugs her. She is happy to be with a man who loves her, supports her and loves her son. She is happy to have her life on track with the support of her loved ones.
