Freya’s mind raced with questions. “Why didn’t you tell me?” she demanded, her voice trembling as she confronted her parents. Her mother’s eyes brimmed with tears. “We wanted to protect you, Freya. We never expected this day to come.”
“What do you mean?” Freya asked, her chest tightening.
Her father sighed deeply, avoiding her gaze. “You were left on our doorstep as a baby, with only a silver pendant. We never knew your origins or who your real parents were. We raised you as our own, hoping for a normal life.”
Freya’s heart pounded. “So, I’m not really your daughter?”
Her mother took her hand gently. “You are our daughter in every way that matters. But your true heritage is something we don’t fully understand.”
Before Freya could absorb this, a loud knock echoed through their home. Her father stiffened, eyes wide with fear. “They’re here,” he whispered to his wife. “We need to move.”
“Who’s here?” Freya’s panic escalated.
The door burst open, and a group of imposing figures entered, led by Marcus, Aiden’s Beta. “We’re searching for the Omega,” Marcus announced, his gaze settling on Freya. “There you are.”
Freya’s mother tried to shield her, but Marcus commanded, “Stay back!”
Freya’s heart raced as she realized the gravity of the situation. “You can’t take her!” her father shouted, standing in defiance.
Marcus remained resolute. “The Alpha King demands her capture. She’s coming with us.”
Freya felt her wolf awakening, a surge of power coursing through her. “I’m not going anywhere,” she declared, her voice steady.
Marcus’s eyes narrowed. “You have no choice, Omega. The Alpha King demands your presence.”
Just then, a deep voice commanded from outside. “Enough.” Aiden Stark entered, his piercing gaze fixed on Freya. “You will come with me, willingly or not.”
Freya felt a strange pull towards him but her survival instinct prevailed. “Why should I trust you?”
Aiden’s expression softened slightly, though his tone remained authoritative. “Because you are mine, and I protect what is mine.”
The room fell silent, the tension palpable as Freya faced an impossible choice: surrender to Aiden or fight for the life she had always known.
