Kacey's first day at the Romano estate dawned with a mixture of excitement and anxiety. She had spent the night tossing and turning, her mind spinning with thoughts of Adrian and Ivan. The interview had left her shaken, not only because of the intensity of Ivan's gaze but also the strange sense of connection she felt with him—something she couldn't explain. And now, she was about to become part of his world, a world she couldn't quite understand yet but felt deeply drawn to.

The sun was just beginning to rise as Kacey prepared herself for the day. She dressed carefully, choosing a simple, yet professional outfit—a plain navy-blue blouse and black slacks. She didn't want to stand out too much or give Ivan any reason to question her capabilities. But as she looked at herself in the mirror, she couldn't help but wonder if she was ready for this. Her amnesia had robbed her of so much—memories, identity, and a sense of who she really was. But today, she had a chance to start anew.

Arriving at the estate, Kacey was greeted by a housekeeper who led her to Adrian's room. The house was quiet, the grandeur of the place intimidating as her footsteps echoed down the long hallways. Each step felt heavier, and she couldn't shake the feeling that this was more than just a job. There was something about the Romano family that intrigued her—especially Ivan. The moment she had met him, something had clicked, as though she had met him before, even though that was impossible. Was it just her imagination playing tricks on her? She pushed the thought aside, focusing on the task at hand.

Adrian's room was at the far end of the hallway, and when she entered, the sight of the boy made her heart skip a beat. He was sitting quietly on his bed, looking down at a sketchbook in his lap. His dark brown hair, messy and untamed, reminded her of someone she couldn't quite place. But it was his eyes that struck her the most—deep, soulful, and filled with a kind of quiet sadness that made her chest ache.

"Adrian?" Kacey said softly, not wanting to startle him.

The boy looked up at her, his eyes widening slightly. There was a moment of hesitation, but then he nodded.

"I'm Kacey," she continued, stepping into the room. "I'm going to be your new nanny."

Adrian didn't say anything, just watched her with a guarded expression. Kacey approached slowly, kneeling down to his level. She smiled gently, hoping to put him at ease. "What are you drawing?"

Adrian hesitated again before flipping the sketchbook around to show her. It was a drawing of a woman—her face half-finished, but there was something familiar about her features. Kacey felt a pang of recognition, though she couldn't quite place it.

"She's beautiful," Kacey said softly, her voice thick with emotion. "Is this someone you know?"

Adrian shrugged, his small fingers gripping the edge of the sketchbook tightly. "I don't know... I just... draw her sometimes."

Kacey's heart clenched. She could see the resemblance in the woman's face to her own features, and she couldn't shake the feeling that Adrian was drawing someone from his past. Could it be his mother? But Ivan had said nothing about her, and Kacey didn't want to pry. She would have to tread carefully, but the mystery intrigued her.

Over the next few hours, Kacey spent time getting to know Adrian. He was quiet, but there was a sweetness to him that she adored. As they sat on the floor playing with his toys, she noticed the way he watched her, as though he was trying to figure something out. She could sense his hesitation, his uncertainty, but also a glimmer of curiosity.

Meanwhile, Ivan stood on the balcony of his office, watching from above. His heart twisted in his chest as he observed Kacey and Adrian together. He had hired her out of necessity, but now that she was here, he couldn't ignore the nagging feeling that had settled deep within him. She looked so much like her—like Kacey. It was almost painful to watch, to see someone who so closely resembled the woman he had lost. But he knew better than to let his emotions cloud his judgment.
