stuck on you

awkwardly, you make your way over to felix, having to step around the rest of the boys who hung around the staircase. all of them either chuckling, or smirking at you. but you tried to ignore it, nodding your head towards felix.

"lead the way." you mumble, desperate to distance yourself from these guys. a brief hint of a smirk flashes across felix's face before he nods, turning around and heading up the stairs. you quickly follow him, but making sure to not walk beside of him. he still gave you bad vibes though you could sense his urgency to get to class.

you follow him through the hall, feeling a little more relaxed when other students began to crowd the hall. but you couldn't help but notice the way everyone seemed to look at felix, offering him smiles, or waving erratically. felix, though, promptly ignored every single one of them, not even bothering to smile back politely. you couldn't help but wonder just who felix and these other guys were, and why everyone seemed to look at felix as if he was some celebrity around here.

finally, felix turns the corner, walking into a classroom. you sigh in relief when you see the professors name written on the white board, knowing that felix did take you to the right place. you were grateful for your decision to follow him, because why the hell was room three-hundred-twenty-four right next to room four-hundred-five? you definitely wouldn't have been able to find it on your own, and probably would have ended up just skipping the class altogether.

you take a seat in the front, knowing that a guy like felix probably sat in the back of the class, and again, you were trying to distance yourself from him.

"why are you sitting there?" felix scoffs, making his way to the back of the classroom. typical. you thought. it was only the two of you in the classroom so far, so you decided against ignoring him.

"i like the front." you shrug, keeping your answer vague.

"ah, so you're new, and a brownnoser?" you hear him click his tongue teasingly. you couldn't help but roll your eyes.

"not a brownnoser. just new" you retort.

"you know, some people have a thing for professor auclair. he's not too much older than us." you could practically hear the smirk in his voice.

"oh? you got a crush on him?" you question, turning around in your chair to meet his gaze. felix seemed taken aback by your retort.

"what? no. i mean other girls on campus." he states matter-of-factly.

"you sure?" you chuckle. felix rolls his eyes, finally falling silent. thank god. soon after, the rest of the students file into the classroom, followed by a taller man,  circular glasses around his eyes, jet black hair that split down the middle. honestly, you hated to admit it, but he was very attractive for a professor.

"bonjour..." he starts speaking in french, and you have to adjust, trying your hardest to understand him. your old french professor spoke in broken french, but it was clear professor auclair would not be doing that. you struggled to keep up as he gave out instructions. you could vaguely pick up on things he was saying like.

essay... in french... topic... midnight...

but the words you could make out were not nearly enough to help you understand what you were meant to be doing. you tried glancing to the classmates next to you, seeing if they were just as lost as you were, but they all seemed to be keeping up pretty well. you quickly figured out that you were not as far along in your french studies as these students were, and you were already planning on going to the dean to discuss putting you into a lower level.

the class went on confusingly as professor auclair began to teach, you were completely lost at this point, and you honestly gave up. you knew you wouldn't be able to understand him well enough, so you figured that zoning out for the rest of the class would be the best option. that is until you were nudged by the classmate next to you. you furrow your brows, and she nods her head towards professor auclair who was looking dead at you. you looked like a deer in headlights, even more so when he spoke.

not... attention...?

were the only words you could make out, and using context clues, you figured he was calling you out for not paying attention.

"sorry... i... my french is not as good..." you admit to him. he seems displeased as you spoke your native tongue.

"then tell my why you're sitting in my classroom?" he cocks a brow at you, thankfully speaking so you could understand.

"i... this is what they put on my schedule... it's my first day here..." you were embarrassed, to say the least. getting called out like this in front of the whole class. professor auclair clicks his tongue at you.

"then i suppose this class won't be very beneficial for you, if you cannot keep up." you could only nod, agreeing with him. "so then you may leave." he motions to the door. your eyes going wide as you weren't really expecting to be kicked out of your first clsss on your first day.

"i would like to stay... at least for this class, i'll go to the dean and get switched after." you plead. you didn't have another class for an hour and a half, and you'd rather spend that hour in a classroom rather than wandering the halls to potentially run into one of those guys again.

"very well. but you will sit in the back as to not disturb the students who actually belong here." he states, motioning to the back of the classroom. you pull your lips into a thin line, nodding as you stand up, grabbing all of your things. but as you turn around, you notice there was only one open seat, and it was right next to felix. he was already smirking smugly at you, sending you quite the condescending wave. and now, you weren't so sure of your decision.

"take your seat quickly, or leave. you are disrupting my class." professor auclair speaks again, clearly not happy with your mental dilemma. you had yet another choice to make, and you needed to make it fast.

do you go and sit next to a smug looking felix, or do you take your chances out in the hall?
