It was the day after the fight between Toshiaki and Kido. Everyone was surprised that Toshiaki lost the fight to Kido, Toshi was suspended and Kido was detained after the fight. Masumi wouldn't stop bugging Kido about how brave he was in fighting against his middle school bully. Masahiko would do his best to change the subject, but Masumi wouldn't just forget that it all had happened that day, Kido was nearly one of the most feared students in Shiketsu, he was okay with that, but didn't enjoy it much. He would also get noticed by people who had witnessed the fight and they would praise him continuously, Kido was always embarrassed when things like this happened. He would refuse to make eye contact with anyone who did so.

"You can't just let this go Masa-sama! You obliterated his face! You should be proud of that!" said Masumi.

Kido sighed, looking away from her, then back "Sumi...I hate the praise I keep getting from everyone you know I hate to be acknowledged. I'd much rather be in the shadows."

Masumi pouted, "How can you live like that?! You're awesome!"

Mashiko groaned, shaking his head, "Masumi...That doesn't mean I have to be in the spotlight. I HATE being in the spotlight, you may love it but I don't."

"You're right, I guess you and I are complete opposites, huh?" Masumi said with a small laugh.

"Yes, we are. It's why we're friends." Kido replied, smiling a bit

Masumi laughed softly, hugging Kido, "You're right."

Kido and Masumi left class and walked to the buses together, talking about their new assignments in their art class. They both were excited about the new project they were going to start soon. Kido got home and put his stuff away, sighing quietly to himself, he knew that Toshiaki would be back in school tomorrow, which he wasn't too happy about, he wished that Toshi would just transfer to a different school and never come back. He hated him with a passion, and he knew that hatred wouldn't go away anytime soon. He was full of bitterness towards him, but he knew that Toshiaki wouldn't bother him anymore after the fight he put up with a week ago. It felt like ages ago to Kido, and he wished people would just stop talking about it, but they never did. Kido went to sleep that night, his mind racing.
