Now contrary to what you might believe after how we left things, Jane did not end up asking Duncan to be her tutor. Even though the Ravenclaw boy was by far the top of the class in the subject, Ominis vehemently refused to let her. In the end he had instead offered his services in the class, stating he would be able to get her up to speed in a way that didn't ruin her reputation and pride.

Although she was very interested in the reasoning behind this Duncan Ominis feud- which even showed a bit in the original game- she also didn't want to push it. The coolest guy at this school was offering to help her with charms class? Uh yeah lets just accept that and move on before anything else can change. (sorry to anyone who was hoping for a Duncan sub story)

Now with the help of her friends she was able to make a manageable list of every subject she needed to cover and schedule when she would study them. She also talked with all her professors during her free afternoon the next day, making her lists a little more accurate to what would be covered in her end of year testing. All of her teachers were very impressed with her organization and eagerness- which hey lets be real they probably should have been the ones to provide her the list anyway.

Now it seemed all these learning related loose ends could be all tied up so our main character could focus on the game storyline and some relationships a little bit more- how convenient!

It was a good thing she had that focus, even though it was going to be used on more relationships and less game play for a moment. It seemed that when Friday rolled around Jane was feeling pretty good about how everything was looking- and she forgot that there was an awkward situation she had yet to deal with. (make your bets- what, or who, is coming next)

As she made her way towards History of Magic that morning Jane felt a sense of foreboding that didn't sit quite right. Nothing felt wrong, and it wasn't like a evil vibe- rather one of potential awkwardness. She tried to shrug it off, in reality that was kind of a normal day for her here- she was always making shit awkward.

When she made it to class her heart skipped a beat when she saw the head of that beautiful sandy blond hair. Taking a step back before going in, she tried to steal herself.

"I'm turning over a new leaf," she told herself. She wasn't going to obsess anymore, instead she was just going to be a normal friend. She took a few deep breaths and walked in.

"Morning." She said in a cool and totally not obsessive way as she took her seat.

"Good morning" he replied, pausing his hand in his reading. Jane was going to ask something basic like how his morning had been, but he surprised her with a question.

"I've been meaning to ask- if everyone is still planning to go to Hogsmead tomorrow?"

"Oh? Uh I think so. The only one who has mentioned it since that afternoon was Poppy." She paused a second "Why? Did you uh were you thinking you might be able to come with us?"

"If that's the plan then yes I would like to-" there was a moment of silence and Ominis turned towards her a little concerned "What?"

"Oh sorry just making mental notes of where everyone is today so I can make sure to catch them all-" right then Poppy's happy voice called hello from the doorway and Jane whipped around.

"POPPY!! WE ARE GOING TO HOGSMEADE TOMORROW OKAY!"

The girl looked a little taken aback by the yelling, but smiled and nodded nonetheless. Jane returned the smile and turned back to her desk. Her face got a little flush when she noticed he was laughing.

Class was going as normally as could be expected, professor Bins being the most monodrome teacher in the universe. The Gryffindor had made a plan to just read through the textbook during class anyway- she learned better from reading rather than a lecture. Once he announced the topic she found the chapters and then zoned out of the room and into the pages.
