long chapter ahead, buckle up pals 🫡

You were peacefully sleeping when your eyes were attacked by rays of sunlight. You scrunched up your face, slowly opening your eyes to see Suzume standing next to your window with her hands gripping your curtains. She was clad in school uniform and her hair was tied into a messy side braid. Right, she had council duties.

She greeted you once she noticed that you were conscious and immediately left your room. That's one way to be woken up, you covered your eyes with your hands to ease the headache that had formed. After a few minutes of silence, there was a rhythmic knock on your door.

You could hear Suna's muffled voice on the other side—saying something about Atsumu and Osamu that you couldn't really catch. You almost forgot that you had been scheduled to watch them play volleyball that morning. The time was around 10a.m., you assumed the twins had just finished morning training.

You sighed and dragged yourself out of bed, audibly groaning while doing so. You stretched for a second before going to shower and get dressed.

You decided to wear a pair of shorts and an old track shirt as the weather seemed hotter than usual. You already missed the cool spring weather you were experiencing then. Once school started, the weather would start to feel warmer inching closer to summer.

After lathering sunscreen all over your face and neck, you made your way to the dining room and spotted the twins around your dining table, arguing. You leaned against your doorframe, knocking your side and making a small noise. The twins picked it up and spun to see you sporting a disinterested look on your face, as if to say 'stop your shenanigans'.

They immediately stopped—not before throwing some glares at each other—and greeted you with a smile. Atsumu noticed your outfit and cocked an eyebrow.

"Won't ya feel cold in that?"

You shook your head in response, "nah, 'm good."

Atsumu played with the hem of his sweatshirt, shrugging. You grabbed an apple from a basket on your dining table and began eating while waiting for the boys to get ready. There's a comfortable silence between the three of you until Osamu spoke.

"Did ya see Suzu in her uniform just now?" Osamu asked to no one in particular.

"Yeah, can't ya believe that's gon' be us next week?" Atsumu grinned.

"Spring break's too short." you grumbled. "2 weeks is way too short to recover from junior high and get ready for high school."

Atsumu and Osamu agreed before going onto their phones. Suna finally came out from his room and the four of you set off to the park.

The walk to the park wasn't awkward, surprisingly. You and Osamu discussed your opinions on BigBang, and you teased Osamu when he admitted to learning part of a choreography with Atsumu in his free time. On the other hand, Atsumu was asking Suna about what it's like in Tokyo to which Suna replied,

"I don't know, busy? I rarely visit."

Atsumu gave the lanky boy an unimpressed look.

"I'm serious, Miya. Tokyo's nothing special, just a concrete jungle."

You tittered at their exchange, finding Atsumu's disappointment amusing. Atsumu turned over his shoulder and glared at you, to which you stuck out your tongue playfully. Osamu signalled to you to knock it off, and you go back to sporting a neutral expression.

The park was quiet, fortunately and there were no small kids or anyone else in the vicinity. Atsumu cheered, more space to play! He ran to an empty court and began to bounce his volleyball on the ground while waiting for the other boys to catch up.
