The university auditorium buzzed with energy. The entire marketing department had gathered for one of the most anticipated events of the semester: the election of new officers for the student organization. Excitement and nervous anticipation filled the air, with students chatting among themselves, exchanging predictions, and reviewing the campaign platforms of the candidates.
Lewis and Clarisse sat together, surrounded by a sea of friends and classmates. The room was full of whispers and scattered conversations as they waited for the final speeches and the results of the vote. Lewis had campaigned hard for the position of president, with Clarisse and their friends supporting him every step of the way. Now that the moment had arrived, he was both hopeful and anxious.
Clarisse leaned over to Lewis, giving him a reassuring smile. "You've got this," she whispered. "We all know how much effort you've put into this. Just breathe."
Lewis nodded, trying to calm his nerves. "Thanks, Clarisse. I just hope it was enough."
The candidates were called one by one to give their final statements. Lewis stepped up to the podium, standing tall with a confident but sincere expression. His speech was concise, passionate, and focused on how he planned to create more opportunities for students, improve communication within the organization, and make their events more inclusive. He spoke about leadership, teamwork, and building a stronger community—ideas that resonated with everyone in the room.
When Lewis returned to his seat, the applause was loud, and he felt a renewed sense of hope. Clarisse gave him an encouraging thumbs-up, and the rest of their friends cheered quietly.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the election results were announced. The crowd fell silent as the student council president took the stage with the list of names.
"First, we would like to thank all the candidates for their dedication and commitment. Now, for the role of president of the student marketing organization, we are pleased to announce... Bernardo!"
The room erupted in applause, and Lewis felt a wave of relief wash over him. He exchanged a wide grin with Clarisse and stood up to accept the role. As he made his way to the stage, his heart raced, but his face was full of joy. He had done it.
"And for the position of secretary," the student council president continued, "Clarisse Alvarado!"
Clarisse's heart leaped at the sound of her name. She hadn't expected to be so emotional, but hearing her name called was a moment of triumph. She turned to Lewis, who was still on stage, and smiled as their eyes met in a shared moment of victory. She joined him on stage, and they both shook hands with the current officers, ready to begin their journey as the new leaders of the organization.
After the results were announced, the group of friends gathered outside the auditorium, celebrating with high-fives and cheers. Ally, Naya, and Ivy were especially proud, knowing how much work both Lewis and Clarisse had put into their campaigns.
"You guys are going to be the dream team," Ally said with a grin, playfully nudging Clarisse.
"We've got big shoes to fill, but I think we're up for it," Lewis added, looking around at his friends. "Thanks for all the support, guys."

The weeks following the election were a whirlwind of activity. Lewis and Clarisse threw themselves into their new roles with enthusiasm. As president, Lewis led the meetings with confidence and worked on building a more engaged and dynamic organization. Clarisse, meanwhile, took on the responsibilities of secretary, organizing meetings, taking minutes, and ensuring that everything ran smoothly. Their synergy as leaders was apparent to everyone in the group, and they quickly earned the respect of their peers.
