What can be better than the open road, the wind in your hair, heartbreak at your back, and freedom beckoning over the horizon.

That is what Alpha Jeon Jungkook thought as he enjoyed the drive, music blaring from the radio. Handsome as hell, black hair, muscles, tattoos, Ray-Bans over his eyes, a tight white T-shirt, ripped jeans and his Timberlands. Looking good! His powerful convertible sportscar's engine roared as he sped along the tar roads.

Two weeks ago, he didn't know how he was going to get back up after the betrayal. But his Namjoon hyung gave him a talking to over the phone, which let to where he was now.

The road between his hometown and his friends was long, but he needed this time to clear his head from all the anger, the hurt, and the negativity. He is heading to his new future, leaving the people who hurt him behind, cutting them out of his life.

He stopped at a roadhouse on the way, his hyung has cleared his travel arrangements with other packs, as no-one wanted a strange Alpha just wondering around their pack grounds.

As he stepped out of the shop, he was met with 3 wolves, obviously Alphas. The blond Alpha stepped forward, hand outstretched "You must be Alpha Jeon Jungkook, Namjoon's friend. I am Alpha Choi Minho of the Three rivers pack." Jungkook took the proffered hand and shook it. "Yes, I am Jungkook. I just stopped for gas and some snacks. I won't be long."

"No need to rush, a friend of Namjoon is a friend of our pack. You are welcome to rest first. The next pack is 3 hours away and it will be dark by then as well. The mountain pass is no joke at night."

"Thanks, but I will be fine, I am stopping at another friend just before the pass, so will only tackle that in daylight, but I appreciate the offer and will definately take you up on that another time."

They chatted for a few minutes, then Jungkook got in his car and was off again.

Dusk was falling when Jungkook turned off the main road and onto a smaller gravel road. After 5 minutes, he saw the wood cabin of his friend. They haven't seen each other in about two years. Training and pack matters kept them busy and as they were from different packs, they only caught up on the phone every now and then.

Parking next to the house, he switched off the engine. Silence enveloped him. Wow, peace and quiet, what a luxury, he understood why his friend preferred to live here and not in the pack itself.

He heard footsteps, seeing his friend walking out of the house, a smile on his face. Black hair, pale skin, gummy smile and strong body.

"Jungkook-ah! Good to see you!" Jungkook got out of the car, walking to his friend and hugging him. "Yoongi, how have you been?"

They chatted, catching up on friends and what has been happening in their own lives.

"So, Kook, tell me exactly what happened."

Jungkook sat back, twisting his beer bottle with his fingers.

"Well Yoongi, I was stabbed in the back by first two people I thought will always have my back, and then, by my parents, which resulted in me breaking the pack bond and leaving."

"And your mate bond?"

"When I walked in on them, JK immediately imploded the bond, and it snapped back. It was uncomfortable, I will not lie, I can't even imagine what it felt like for my cheating so-called mate. JK had refused the bond from the start and made my life difficult. I should have trusted his gut from the start. I honestly have to say I am not heartbroken, sad for what was done to me by people I trusted with my life, furious at the betrayal, but not heartbroken. As I didn't allow her to mark me, I wasn't stuck with an unwanted mate mark, hers would have faded very quickly after JK broke the bond."
