"There was a darkness in Oakwood," she began after a tense silence, her voice thin and filled with regret. "Patients were haunted... not by their memories, but by their own reflections. It was as if something inside the mirrors amplified their fears."

Sarah frowned, leaning forward in her seat. "Amplified? You're suggesting the mirrors caused their mental deterioration?"

"Why didn't anyone know about this?" Sarah pressed. "Why wasn't this connection brought to light sooner?"

"The hospital was embroiled in scandal after the suicides," Dr. Hayes explained, her eyes dark with the memory. "Officials wanted it shut down, and the records... well, they disappeared. Everyone involved was silenced. Oakwood became a ghost of itself, forgotten. But I never forgot."
