"It's been a while," spoke the red-haired man calmly, suddenly looking all grown-up and mature. He had a neutral expression on his face and looked as peaceful as ever, his hands clasping one another.

"Welcome to the Hidden Sand."

Sasuke and Sakura had left the Hidden Stone in a hurry, longing to tie the knot as soon as possible. They were so engulfed in their undying love for eachother that they couldn't even wait until returning to their home.

Being the closest alternative to the Hidden Leaf, the couple decided to travel to the Country of Wind. There, they were well acquainted with the Kazekage, Gaara, and were sure that he would welcome them with open arms.

"Thank you for having us," Sakura spoke softly, giving Gaara one of her sweet smiles. She was incredibly grateful for his quick reply to their letter, and his truthful eagerness to participate in the act of their wedding. Her fiancé, on the other hand, was not having it at all.

Sasuke was only glaring daggers at the Kazekage, his dark eyes burning into the latter's forehead. After the Chūnin-Exams, their intense encounters and fights, the Uchiha never managed to truly forgive him for it. Even though neither of them were the stubborn child they used to be, Sasuke couldn't help but feel a bit irritated.

Not wanting to appear ungrateful, Sakura kicked the ravenhead's ankle with an awkward chuckle, trying to force a word of gratitude out of him. With a small huff, he eventually relented and grumbled quietly, "thanks, I guess."

Gaara, however, didn't mind the Uchiha's attitude at all. He was done with being horrible and mean to people, which was the reason for his passive behaviour whenever he was degraded. The Kazekage wouldn't ever blame anybody for disliking him.

The redhead was well aware of the fact that the couple wanted to get married this same day. To quote their urgent letter: 'We need to get married quickly. Please, Lord Fifth, we truly are desperate.' He immediately began to do the right arrangements for them, making sure everything was prepared for their arrival and special day.

The couple was currently being guided through the hot streets of the Hidden Sand. Bypassers were gawking at them for being accompanied by the Kazekage in the flesh, which caused Sakura to feel a bit intimidated. Sasuke really did feel a bit intense today, while blaming it all on the heat, and started to glare at the locals.

Even though the Hidden Leaf could reach incredibly high temperatures, the couple was definitely nervous too. Sakura's mind was filled with her potential wedding dress and hairstyle, while Sasuke was desperately trying to find a way of being a gentleman without acting too cringy.

The sand beneath their feet and the hot wind whipping by their ears caused Sasuke and Sakura to sweat. They weren't accustomed to this kind of weather at all, and now the pinkette was starting to doubt if she would even look presentable in the slightest today. 'God, I'll look like a pig,' she thought to herself before smirking just a bit, 'guess Ino will be with me after all.'

Gaara had explained on the way, that Temari and her friends would take care of Sakura while Kankuro and his so-called 'buddies' would get Sasuke ready for the ceremony. The couple was about to part ways now, and the next time they would see eachother would be at the altar.

Sasuke was holding both of Sakura's delicate hands tightly in his one large one, staring down at her with so much love and nervousness. He bit his lip lightly, and the pinkette could hear how unsteady his breathing was.

"I'm... I'm really happy," she whispered softly, a faint blush tinting her shimmering cheeks. She gave him a shy smile, squeezing his hand gently in order to reassure him. After a bit more getting into the depths of his dark orbs, she added in a small murmur, "I-I'll be your wife, Sasuke-kun."
