Icarus

When you think of Icarus you think of the boy who fell from the sky.

Not the boy who wandered the labyrinth his father's creation.

Not the boy who looked at the sun
with passion and yearning.

Not the boy who laughed
as melting wax dripped down his back.

Not the boy who was so in love with the sun he'd die for a chance to reach it.

When you think of Icarus you think of how he fell
not how he flew.

Next time you hear the name Icarus, remember even though he fell for a moment just a moment, he flew too.

Remember how he bleeds just like me and you.

Remember how he loved so passionately it cost him his life.

Don't just think of him as the disobedient son of Daedalus.

Don't think of him as the boy who died for his stupidity.

Think of him as the boy who died for his unwavering love.

Think of him as the boy who was kissed by the sun.

Hi, Beautiful people, I'm so sorry this was late, but thank you for reading my horrid attempt at writing. I appreciate any feedback you have to offer. This is my first attempt at writing and I'd love to improve! This was inspired by a poem written by Fiona. Let me know any people from Greek or Roman mythology you want me to write about.

Sincerely,
Ace
