Chapter Six

Jace was talking to Jane over the phone in his bedroom while lying on his bed laying flat on his back staring at the ceiling. "So? How have you been doing lately, you know since you told me about your sister," says Jane, in a calm voice. Jace took a deep breath and said, "well you know. It's been hard," answered Jace.

"I can only imagine," says Jane, sighing.

"Yeah," answered Jace, in a soft tone of voice.

Jane doesn't know what to say back to Jace. "So uh, my parents are planning to have a party for their twentieth wedding anniversary this Saturday and I was wondering if you would like to come," says Jane. Jace sighed. "Oh, if it's okay with them," answered Jace. "Of course. They love you already," says Jane. Jace softly chuckled. Until Jace heard footsteps once again. It was coming outside his bedroom door. Jace looked down at the floor where he saw footsteps.

Until Jace looked facing forward where his closet was and he noticed the ghost girl standing in front of him. Jace started panting. His heart began to heat really fast. "Jace, are you there?" says Jane. Jace kept on staring at the girl and the girl gave him an evil smile. Jace then looked over at the bedroom door and he noticed the footsteps still continuing to be heard outside the bedroom door. Jace was wondering if there were two girls who were haunting him. Jace looked back at the closet and the girl continued standing there in the closet.

The girl slowly started walking out of the closet. "Jace?" says Jane. Jace continues to feel his heart racing. He couldn't move. "Jace?" says Jane. The voice of Jane started fading and Jace started to hear his heartbeat. Jace also continued panting. The girl coming out of the closet, she walked towards the door of Jace's bedroom.

She turned the doorknob before opening the door and walking out of Jace's bedroom. Jace slowly stood out of his bed before walking to the door and he went to follow the evil girl who looked exactly like Aleix, Jace's patient who died of cardiac arrest. Jace said, "hello," after he stepped out of his bedroom. Jace noticed the girl was walking towards the kitchen. Jace was wondering why the evil girl who looked like Aleix was walking to the kitchen.

Jace slowly walked to the kitchen and after entering the kitchen, Jace just stood where he was standing after he stopped walking. Jace could hear himself breathing really hard. He was scared. He was beginning to feel frightened.  Jace felt something more evil standing behind him. Something more sinister. Jace was quietly taking deep breaths. Jace swallowed nervously. Jace couldn't move and he slowly turned around and he looked behind him and nobody was standing behind him.

Jace took a deep breath once again and he exhaled his breath. Jace's voice was shaky. Jace then began to feel lightheaded once again and he closed his eyes. Jace moaned a little bit and he opened his eyes. After Jace opened his eyes, his head was still spinning. Jace has been wondering why he's been seeing the dead girl and getting dizzy every time he sees her. Jace walks over to the kitchen sink and he leaned over the sink. Jace was trying to not to focus on his head spinning.

    "JACE!!" shouted Jane.

Jace gasped. "Yeah? Yeah. Sorry, I'm. I have to go," says Jace. "Okay. Just don't forget about Saturday, okay?" says Jane. "Yeah okay. I'll see you Saturday," says Jace. "I got to go," says Jace once again. He hung up on Jane without saying I love you or anything back to Jane. Jace then hears footsteps coming from the living room. Jace turns around and he faces the living room. He heard laughter once again. It sounded like Brianna's" laughter.

Jace swallows and hears himself gulp. Until Jace started being attacked by the dead girl as she grabbed Jace from his neck and pulled him back while trying to strangle him. Jace was trying to fight for his life by taking the dead girl's hands and trying to remove her hand from squeezing his throat. After that Jace was able to release himself from being attacked. Jace turned around before he coughed and he gasped and then coughs once again.

Jace was trying to catch his breath. Why is this dead girl trying to kill Jace? Jace kept on wondering why this dead girl was trying to kill him. Jace and Alex were having lunch at the fire station along with other co-workers and Jace kept not even listening to the conversation of his friends and coworkers. Jace was spacing out. He had kept on thinking about the dead girl trying to strangle him. Jace's name was called out by one of his colleagues and Jace says, "huh?" One of the paramedics named Hunter Yoklx was asking Jace if he was okay. Hunter told Jace he looked a little lost.

"I'm fine," answered Jace, taking a sip of his water.

     "Okay then," says Hunter.

Alex then leaned to the side and whispered to Jace. "What's going on with you, brother?" says Alex.

"I was strangled last night," says Jace.

     "What?!" says Alex.

"I. I saw this little girl and I followed her to the kitchen and the next thing I knew I got a little dizzy. After I heard footsteps in the living room, I just stood where I was and boom. I'm being attacked by this girl," says Jace, before looking at Alex.

"Are you saying you think you're seeing a ghost?" wondered Alex.

     "Yeah," answered Jace.

"I've been seeing this little girl who looks like Aleix. Remember her? She was the patient who went into cardiac arrest at the park and died on the way to the hospital," says Jace.

"So you think Aliex who died from cardiac arrest is tryin to kill you?" says Alex.

      "Yes;" answered Jace.

"Jace, I think you're just being paranoid," says Alex.

"I'm not," says Jace, annoyed. Jace sighed.

"Okay. I remember my mom telling me that when she lost a patient before and she thought she was being haunted by them after they'd died. But it was her just being paranoid because her brain was just messing with her head. So I'm thinking that's what's exactly what you're experiencing," explained Alex.

"I swear Alex, I've been seeing Aleix. The girl looks exactly like her," says Jace.

"Jace, I swear, you're just being paranoid," says Alex. Jace nods and rubs his eyes with his fingers. Jace after removing his hand from his eyes leaned over the table and he sighed once more.
