The Vessel of the Light Monarch resided in the center of vibrant Seoul, a city ablaze with neon signs and the boundless vitality of her citizens. With the exception of her ally Sung Jinwoo, the Shadow Monarch, she was a modest citizen of this contemporary city, her actual identity being kept carefully hidden from the public eye.
The Vessel had an unexplainable shiver in her very being one fateful evening as she strolled through a calm Seoul park. She was suddenly in an unfamiliar universe as the environment around her started to change and twist before her eyes could fully comprehend the chaos that took on.
She was no longer on the well-known streets of Seoul; rather, she was surrounded by enormous trees, their imposing shapes controlling the surrounding area. To her great relief, her powers held, and even in this new realm, the glowing aura that surrounded her glowed brightly.
She became urgently aware that she was stuck in a strange world, replacing her confusion. She was obviously lost, at least temporarily, on her way back to Seoul.
The Vessel had to come to terms with the brutal truth of her condition. She took refuge on one of the massive trees' using its shade to protect her from the sun. Due to her heightened senses, she came upon a group of people, most of whom appeared to be severely wounded, terrified and on the verge of death. With the Light Monarch's power placed upon her, she discreetly cured everyone.
Due to her clumsiness, she found herself under questioning from three people. She was so cooperative and kind during the time of questioning that the members of the Survey Corps still doubting her but had no choice but to let her stay with them for the time being, even though she knew she was still being monitored, she accepted the offer.
