(121) Great Anxiety

Two days later, Jennie was able to walk without needing any assistance. The bruises on her body were starting to fade.

Even though Lisa was very busy due to Suzy's issue, he never once left her side. Aside from going out to take occasional calls from Chen Hao, Lisa never left Jennie alone.

Even if he already appointed a few more bodyguards for Jennie, Lisa felt that it was not enough.

After two days of searching, they were finally able to salvage Suzy's car. The bad news was, Suzy's corpse was nowhere to be found.

When they fished it out, they found a disfigured female body. The woman was burned from head to toe. Although she was wearing clothes, her body was covered with burn marks and her face was totally destroyed. If not for her slim waist and curved chest, they wouldn't be able identify her gender.

When they successfully retrieved the corpse, Chen Hao immediately notified Lisa about it.

Lisa was currently flirting with Jennie when his phone rang.

It was Chen Hao who was calling.

Jennie immediately understood the situation and nodded. Since Jennie already knew about Suzy's matter, Lisa decided to answer the call without going outside the room, allowing Jennie to hear the entire conversation through loud speaker.

"Speak."

"Boss. We were able to salvage Miss Suzy's car. Her body was not inside but we found a corpse near the location. It's a female corpse but her entire body is burned and we can't identify her. I already delivered the body to the police. They will run some DNA test and other medical tests to find out if it matches with Miss Suzy's."

"En. You did a good job. Inform me later. When will we receive the results?"

"The fastest is this evening, latest is tomorrow morning"

Chen Hao was told by the Chief of police that since they were outside Beijing, they would have to bring the corpse back to Beijing.

It would be faster to conduct the test in Beijing because the facilities were up to date.

It would normally take 3-7 days for DNA testing but they needed the results early so they could only perform the test using state of the art machines. They needed the result in forty eight hours or less.

Lisa also knew about it so he did not mind waiting for tomorrow to find out everything.

"Mmm.. I understand, call me once you are done."

"Yes. This subordinate understands."

Lisa turned his head and looked at Jennie. He saw her frowning. He could not help but touch the wrinkles on her forehead.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing... It's just that.... It feels... Surreal. If the corpse was really Suzy's... Isn't it a little... I dunno, disappointing? I really can't believe she just died like that... Lisa, do you think that Suzy is truly dead?"

No matter what others say, Jennie felt like everything was fake. Suzy's grudge and obsession has reached the 9th heaven. It would be impossible for her to give up just like that and choose to commit suicide.

Jennie nodded.

Indeed. Lisa was correct. Instead if thinking about Suzy's matter, she better put her attention on nursing herself well. She must take good care of Little Bump.

The couple decided to forget Suzy's issue. They did not want to constantly think of negative thoughts.

Night passed and the couple is now sleeping together on the bed. Since Jennie was currently recuperating inside a small hospital, although the facilities were okay and the VIP rooms were passable, it was still unable to compare with the hospitals in the capital, which made Lisa's heart ache deeply for his wife's situation.

So as the husband, Lisa immediately summoned the director of the hospital to inform him about his absurd request. After paying a huge sum of money for compensation, he immediately decided to renovate Jennie's room.

Lisa answered his phone as he pulled the sleeping Jennie closer. He did not know why but he suddenly felt anxious.

He was very anxious and he did not know why.

"How is it?"

"Mmm.. speak. Is it Suzy's corpse or not?"
