The Shadow King's ominous words lingered, casting a dark shadow over their victory."What does he mean?" Rae asked.
Elara's expression turned grave. "The Shadow King will stop at nothing to claim the throne. We must find the next artefact before he does."
Prince Cyrus nodded. "We'll need to decipher the prophecy's next clue."
The trio pored over the ancient text, searching for any hint.
"Ah-ha!" Elara exclaimed. "The next artefact lies in the Abyssal Caves."
Rae's heart sank. "Aren't those caves treacherous?"
Prince Cyrus's jaw set. "We'll face whatever dangers lie within."
As they prepared to depart, Rae felt an unsettling sense of being watched.
"Guys, I think we're being followed," she whispered.
A hooded figure emerged from the shadows – a mysterious ally?
"I've been sent to aid you," the figure said. "My name is Lyra."
Elara narrowed her eyes. "Who sent you?"
Lyra hesitated. "Someone who wishes to remain anonymous."
Rae's instincts screamed caution, but Prince Cyrus nodded.
"We'll accept your help."
Lyra led them through the winding caves, avoiding deadly traps and hidden pitfalls.
But as they neared the artefact, the Shadow King's minions ambushed them.
"Lyra, is this a trap?" Rae demanded.
Lyra's eyes flashed with determination. "No, I swear allegiance to our anonymous benefactor."
Together, they fought off the attackers.
As the dust settled, Rae spotted the artefact – a glowing amulet.
"The Amulet of Light," Elara breathed.
But the Shadow King's voice echoed through the caves.
"You may have claimed another artefact, but my plan unfolds."
Rae's heart sank. What did the Shadow King have in store for them?
