The forest was silent, the moonlight filtering through the dense canopy as Taehyung slipped through the palace grounds. Eight days he had been here, blending in as a mere worker, his true identity concealed beneath a humble exterior. But today, he had finally managed to gain access to the palace.

After securing his black horse deep within the jungle, Taehyung returned to find something unsettling—footprints in the dirt near his steed. His sharp eyes narrowed, scanning the area, but the forest remained still, betraying no sign of who had been there.

The next day,

while performing his duties in the palace, Taehyung caught sight of something unusual. Princess Fiorella, the very woman he had briefly glimpsed in the market a few days ago, was slipping out of the palace, her movements secretive and swift.

Intrigued and suspicious, he followed her at a distance.

She led him into the jungle, where the shadows deepened, and the air grew thick with tension

She led him into the jungle, where the shadows deepened, and the air grew thick with tension. As he followed her, a sound echoed behind him. Taehyung whirled around, hand instinctively reaching for the hilt of the concealed dagger at his waist.

But there was nothing—just the wind rustling through the leaves. When he turned back, Fiorella had vanished.

Cursing under his breath, Taehyung broke into a run, his instincts guiding him deeper into the woods. The silence was broken only by the sound of his boots against the earth and the rapid beating of his heart. He couldn’t lose her, not now.

Fiorella stood in a small clearing, unaware of the man following her. She wore a light, warm-toned gown that clung to her frame as she approached Taehyung’s horse, her fingers brushing against its sleek, black coat. Her voice was soft, almost a whisper, as she spoke to the animal, her words carrying on the wind.

The night air was heavy with tension as Fiorella stood before the powerful black horse, her delicate hand running down its sleek neck.
