Before Sierra could fully process her surroundings, the sharp sound of her phone buzzing on the nightstand jolted her awake. A headache pounded in her temples as she groaned and rubbed her eyes. "What was that noise?" she muttered, still half-asleep.
She reached for her phone, squinting at the blaring screen filled with missed calls, unread messages, and notifications from the previous night. Something about the sheer number of alerts made her stomach tighten with dread.
One particular message caught her eye—an unknown number. The sender had sent something just moments before, and Sierra hesitated, her pulse quickening. She opened the message, her breath hitching when she saw a video file attached.
With shaky fingers, she tapped the video, and her blood ran cold as the clip began to play. It was a recording of her and Nathan from the previous night, caught in a moment of intimacy that felt both distant and wrong. The angle was clear—the camera had been set up deliberately.
Sierra's heart pounded as she scrolled up to see another message from the same unknown number sent the night before:
"Hope you enjoy your night, Sierra. Tomorrow will be fun."
Panic surged through her, and she bolted upright, clutching the sheets. "Oh no... what the hell is this?" she whispered, her mind spinning.
Her movements stirred Nathan, who groaned groggily beside her. "What's wrong? Did I wake you?" he asked, his voice heavy with sleep.
But Sierra wasn't paying attention. Her eyes were wide with fear and confusion as she turned to him. "Nathan, we need to talk. This—this can't be happening."
She held her phone out to him, showing the video that had been sent. "Look at this. Someone recorded us."
Nathan's drowsiness evaporated in an instant as he sat up, grabbing the phone from her hand. His expression darkened as the reality of the situation sank in. "What the hell...?" he muttered, his jaw tightening.
"I don't know who sent it," Sierra said, her voice trembling. "But whoever it is has footage of us from last night. This could ruin everything."
Nathan's eyes flashed with anger and concern, his mind already racing for answers. "We need to figure out who did this. Now."
The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on both of them, the implications of the video stretching far beyond the privacy they had once thought they shared.
Sierra paced around the room, her mind racing. "We're in a really bad situation here. I can't be seen like this. This could ruin everything for me."
Nathan tried to process her distress. "Sierra, relax. It's not like we planned this. We were both drunk, and it's not the end of the world."
Sierra stopped in her tracks and turned to him, her face a mixture of frustration and fear. "Relax? Paano ako magre-relax ha? My career is on the line! Hindi ganoon kadali iyon. People will talk. This could be all over the news."
Nathan got out of bed and walked over to her; his expression serious. "I understand you're worried, but freaking out isn't going to help. We'll figure this out. Let's just get through the day and talk about it more clearly once we're both more sober."
Sierra nodded, taking a deep breath to calm herself. "Okay. But we need to be careful. I can't afford any negative press."
Nathan gave a reassuring nod. "I'll do whatever I can to help. Let's just get out of here and handle this."
