It was almost unbelievable, that the most contented he had ever felt in his bedroom, was when his bed was being occupied by someone else.
Not just anyone else, but Yoon Seri, the daughter of the Governor of Seoul.
Sitting by the side of his bed on a stool, the Captain quietly gazed at Seri's tranquil sleeping visage, appreciating the hypnotic rise and fall of her chest, before reaching out to brush a stray lock of hair out of her face with the back of his hand.
Earlier, when the post-euphoric haze from their shared intimacy had gradually dissipated, Jeong Hyeok had offered to wait with Seri until her chauffeur arrived, under the assumption that she had made the usual arrangements of waiting for her ride home at the nearest bus stop.
"Oh, Mr Hong isn't coming to get me." The Governor's daughter had said with a tinkly laugh. "I've already dismissed him for the day."
"I shall walk you home." The Captain, ever the gentleman, had replied almost immediately.
Reaching out for the Captain's hand, she laced her fingers with his, noting how his fingers naturally molded around hers as if it was the most natural thing to do.
Her eyes then sought his, before she shook her head.
"It's getting late, Seri, I have to make sure you get back safely."
"But I already am at home." She quietly replied, a tinge of bashfulness coloring her tone as she watched a small smile tug on the edges of the Captain's lips.
