Alice is the prettiest, most popular girl in my school. But her boyfriend, Garrett Wilson is equally impressive.
I know we're too young to date but she is hot. Like seriously if you've seen her you'd be surprised.
I have some tough competition if I want to win him over.
But in reality there's a problem.
He's straight. This is always an issue cause everyone thinks I'm a freak.
Okay here's what I look like for you perverts out there.
I'm thin but not actually healthy. Like I'm not thin cause I exercise. It's cause I just don't really eat much. I'm your average geek. I don't have braces, glasses, suspenders, and Star Wars or Trek t-shirts.
But I do have a certain appreciation for Japanese cartoon culture.
Basically anime.
Anyways other then that I can't compete with Alice. She's just so perfect. Sometimes I want to throw her into a pit of fire.
And others I'm happy for them cause her boyfriend, Garett Wilson, is pretty happy with her.
"Earth to Tin! Earth to Tin!"
"What?" Tin. My nickname. My first name is Timothy which I find revolting. My middle name is Ian. And my last name is Nichols. Everyone of my friends calls me Tin. But it's not like that's a lot of people.
"I saw you looking at Garrett."
"Don't act like he isn't cute."
"Yeah but he's a jerk."
"Maybe to you..."
"Maybe to everyone..."
"Shut up." I said. If you don't know who I'm talking about. It's Mini. Her real name is Maria but she's short, I call her Mini. She's fine with it. She likes it.
"You think you're special? He's not even gay!"
"Who says he can't be persuaded?"
"Says the eighteen girl friends he's had."
"That's not my fault Mini you know that."
"Well it isn't doing us any good so forget about him. Look for another one."
"But he's perfect!"
"The entire eighth grade already figured that out Tin!"
"I'm sorry I was a little late!"
"But seriously just eat your food and shut up." She said her gaze wandering behind me. Her face began to grow into a slight panic. Nobody else sat with us so there's nobody she could be looking at behind me.
"What are you looking at?"
"Stop talking. It's it's..."
"It's what? Spit it out!"
"Hey geeks!" Garrett's voice exclaimed. My heart dropped into my feet. He knew Mini's face. She has told me millions of stories about his stupid pranks. But I can't help it. I like him.
"What are you doing here?"
"What's your name?"
"Mini. Now go away." She snapped at him. My heart is racing.
"Why so mean?" I was gripping the table so hard my knuckles were white. I bit my lip.
"Cause you really have no reason to be here go."
"What's your name?" He turned to me. Freeze! Okay now I get nervous. I mean like sweaty palms, cloudy head, stuttering the whole deal. And I was basically having a gun aimed at my head ready to shoot. Unfreeze!
"T-t-t-"
"Tin his name is Tin."
"Tin? Mini? Those are some weird ass names."
"Nicknames you dork." Mini spat, standing with a glare. He towered over her.
"What are you gonna do?" He mocked her laughing.
"I dunno I've been researching how to murder people online. Maybe I'll try something new." I sat motionless this entire time.
"You and little tin can over there don't scare me." Mini looked furious. But she couldn't do anything.
I didn't want to be mean but I had to say an insult. Mini wouldn't forgive me if I stood idly by. Think think think! What is the most insulting thing I could say? Mini is gonna kill me for this.
"Gay!" I blurted. Mini gave me a WTF look but Garrett looked like I had slapped his dog. I said the wrong thing and I knew it. Mini knew I was saying a word that was risky.
"What did you just say?"
"Gay." I mumbled.
"You think I'm gay?" He moved his head closer to mine eye to eye. He was taller than me but not by much.
"N-no."
"No no no! You said gay! You can't take back the words." He yelled in an exaggerated manor. Freeze again! You see our lunch supervisors only care if a fire breaks out. But if a fight breaks out they pretend they don't see it because they hate paperwork. Unfreeze!
"HEY!" Garrett yelled so the lunch room could hear. I was as red as a tomato. I'm dead meat.
"Guess what this little thing said to me! Raise your hand if you think I'm GAY!" After a small delay, I raised my hand accepting my fate in the cafeteria with all the heads turned.
"Anything to say before I pound you to bits?"
"I-I-"
"What?" He said so the whole cafeteria could hear, "Speak up!" He brought me to his face smirking.
"I-I-I...." I looked him in the big stupid face. Our faces were centimeters apart. I thought of the most daring thing ever and I would either make matters worse or get a boyfriend.
"I'm gay too." Then I took his face in my hands and kissed him. Didn't know if he'd like it. But he was certainly shocked to have a smallish gay boy kissing him in front of the entire eighth grade and his girlfriend. I had no idea what to do but it was either this or getting my ass kicked so I was out of ideas.
The kiss lasted longer then expected. He stood in shock for a few moments. His eyes open wide probably evaluating his life. Then in his head he probably said something similar to YOLO and I felt him kiss me back.
Two thirteen year olds having a gay kiss in the middle of lunch.
That was how everyone figured out I was gay. And I bet if you asked Garrett. That'd be his story too.
"Smile for the camera." Mini giggled pulling out her phone and snapping a picture. Garrett pulled away quickly his face red. His blonde hair was slightly messy after being pulled unknowingly into a kiss. He looked adorable. Then the reality of it all crashed down.
Tin. What the fuck did you just do? I yelled at myself in my head.
"Are you gay?" His first words.
"No I was just trying to save my ass." I said my voice heavy with a type of sarcasm I like to call truthcasm. Its like sarcasm. But it sounds like you are so genuine people believe you, it sounds stupid but quite funny.
"Oh." He looked slightly hurt.
"Of course I'm fucking gay!"
And that my friends, is a quick lesson on love. Brought to you by the love doctor.
Next time on love doctor we will deal with the ex, the gay boy, and what I just did which is possibly the worst fucking thing I could've possibly done.
