West Hill High isn't that big.
That was my first impression of my new school. Compared to the other schools I looked at, it's a dwarf.
Trust me, I didn't choose to switch schools. If I could've I would have stayed at my old one.
But my mom decided it would be good for us to move. To get away from it all. So here I am, standing in front of the smallest high school I've ever seen.
I let out a long sigh and make my way to the office.
When I get my schedule I walk down the hallway to get to my first class. When I enter, I'm greeted with a small class of around thirteen doing whatever.
This is going to be a long day.

I look for a place to sit and see one seat available next to the only kid who looks out of place.
Just like me.
I pull the chair out and sit down. He doesn't even glance my way. He's writing something in his book, in a language I can't understand. His notes are messy yet calculated.
Whatever.
The other kids are hanging out, sitting on desks. There's a group of four near the whiteboard. Two girls and two guys.
They hear the teacher walk down the hallway and they slowly make their way to their desks. Noticing for the first time, me.
"Are you new here?" One of the girls ask. She has long hair with curtain bangs.
What do you think?
"Uh. Yeah," I answer blandly.
"You should sit with us at lunch, we have room at our table," she says and I hear a small scoff from the boy sitting next to me. I look at him briefly before looking back at her and shrugging.
"Fine, whatever." She smiles and sits back down at her desk with her friends. They all look at her questioningly and she whispers something making everyone laugh.
The boy next to me continues scribbling on his paper, not looking up as the teacher takes attendance.
"Beck?" The girl who was just talking to me answers.
"Daxton?" I answer slowly.
"Harmony?"
"Jay?"
"Kim?"
The list goes on and on until,
"Atlas?" The boy next to me slowly places down his pen and looks at the teacher.
"Here," he finally speaks.
