The next day at school, I get called to the guidance counselor's office.

"Do you know why you're here?" Is the first thing she asks.

"No."

She looks at me with a pitying look. "I wanted to speak to you about your indifference."

I glance at her slowly and my expression changes. My face relaxes as I look at her with a blank face, clearly trying to annoy her.

She just smiles. "A lot of your teachers have commented on your monotone voice and your nonchalant demeanour," she points out.

I finally speak, not showing any emotion in my voice, "how does my facial expression affect the lesson?" She smiles understandingly and nods in agreement. "It could be disturbing for some teachers. I personally find it charming."

My brows furrow. "Okay?"

She chuckles and responds, "is there any reason behind the way you carry yourself?"

"No. It's just the way I think," I state. She annoys me.

"Hmm.." She thinks dramatically. "Can you tell me your favorite food?"

"Patties."

She writes something down. "And your favorite color?"

"Purple. And what does this have to do with anything?"

She writes again and answers, "just getting to know you."

Sure you are.

"You're free to go now, Daxton," she says and I get up and walk out the door. "I'll see you next week!" She says as she closes it behind me.
