Justin woke up with a happy heart. "Goodmorning Sunshine!" he said aloud while opening up the curtain in his room, his eyes squinting a little when he met the sunrays. After he had adjusted to it's brightness, he tilted his head and feel its warmth.
He was all smiles as he fixed his bed; of course he is happy. He glanced at his phone to check if Ken had messaged him already, but to his dismay, no message yet from him. He brushed it off his mind and told himself that no one, not a single thing, will ever ruin his mood today.
It was their 4th anniversary as a couple; they have succeeded in hiding it through the years—at least in the public's eyes, because their team knows so well about them. They have mastered making their affection look like a "layag," and they're actually happy that people ship them; it makes their life easier, they can show sweetness to each other right there and then.
Ken is not really good at remembering dates; for their past anniversaries, he usually reminds Ken and he was the one to always greet him first. And every time Ken remembers, he would feel guilty, kaya laging last minute ang date nila.
It was not really a big deal for Justin though, because Ken makes him feel special every day, and that's what matters to him. He actually, somehow, thought that Ken would forget about today again given his busy schedule. But for a change, Justin had decided that he would not remind him, he would let Ken remember on his own.
'Goodmorning 'ga! Message me when you're awake, sundo kita and sabay tayo breakfast.' was Ken's message.
They do this often, kaya naman his mom would always include Ken whenever she prepares the table. Meron na talagang naka ready na plato for Ken. But because this is a special day, Justin can't help but be hopeful. 'Siguro may surprise yun!' he thought.
An hour later, his kuya Yani went out of the house to greet Ken. As usual, nakapag park na ito, Ken was so welcome to their household that he already has a designated parking space for him.
"morning kuya, morning po 'ma," Ken greeted.
Justin took a quick glance at Ken; he was wearing his usual fit, baggy pants, undershirt and hoodie , and chunky shoes, holding a paper bag full of food he bought outside for breakfast.
'Siguro mga favorite food ko yun,' he thought, kinikilig pa siyang kinuha ang paper bag from Ken. But his smile turned to a chuckle when he opened the bag at nakita niyang puro paborito ng parents niya ang laman nun. 'Well, at least for my parents' he thought.
"Ga, can I borrow your phone?" tanong niya.
Ken handed it to him without any second thought. He checked on Ken's calendar and confirmed that the alarm he set for this day was turned off as he expected. Well, it was him who turned it off, and he did that on purpose.
"Thanks 'ga," he said, handing him back his phone.
"Ga, mabilis lang meeting natin today diba? No rehearsals tayo, pwede bang samahan mo 'ko today, or you want to rest after natin sa studio?" Ken asked him over breakfast.
