Vee and I arrive on floor twelve. It's the highest we've gotten! "Hey, Vee!"
"What is it, Shelly." They replied, crossing their arms.
"Do you think we'll make it past floor fifty?"
"We're not going THAT far.." Vee rolled their eyes.
"Oh..right! Silly me.." I turn to face the elevator, the door opens.
Vee scans the floor. "Jeez..another Pebble? Wait..AND A GOOB TOO!?"
I turn back to Vee as we walk out of the elevator. "How many twisteds are there??"
"About four..which is Pebble, Goob, Tisha, and Poppy."
"Well..I'm sure we'll be fine! We just have to be careful with Pebble and Goob the most." I reassured them.
They grumbled and went out to find the machines, I started doing a nearby machine.
Time skip to panic mode..
I ran into the elevator and waited for Vee, Goob got me good earlier. Too bad I didn't have any heals.
"SHELLY! DON'T LET IT CLOSE..!" Vee says, walking over weakly. They were also on one heart because of Pebble.
"I-I don't know what to do!" I panic.
"SHELLY!" They trip over and Pebble gets them..
CRUNCH! SPLAT!
I fell to my knees and cried, "NO!!" The elevator closed. "Vee.."
I slowly get up, wiping my eyes. I'm shaking so much. The elevator opens to the next floor, the lights turn off..it's a blackout..
"Great..just my luck..!" I say as I carry myself out of the elevator to find the machines.
Suddenly, I see a twisted Vee in the shadows come running at me. More tears drop down my eyes as I run away, but it's no use.
They corner me, and I accept my fate. I close my eyes and pray that it'll be quick and painless.
"Vee..I'm sorry..I couldn't protect you.."
...
"Shelly, are you okay?"
I opened my eyes to see twisted Vee in the air, it was caused by some blue stars. I recognize them.
"Astro..!?" I see a portal open next to me, a hand comes out of it. The hand shrinks itself to my height, and Astro comes out of it.
"Yes, it's me Shelly. Now, are you alright?" He asks me, lending out a hand.
I take his hand, tears fall down my face. "I-I'm okay..now that you're here!" I smiled.
He smiled back, but soon realized that I was on one heart. "Hm, here, let me help with that." He uses his magic on me and gives me an extra heart.
"Thank you..!"
"You're welcome, I am your best friend after all."
I hug him tightly and cry into his shoulder, he hugs back and doesn't mind me doing this. "It's okay now, you're safe."
"B-But..Vee.." I managed to say in-between sobs.
"Shelly, you'll find a cure soon. I promise." He reassures me. "Now, I'll help you with this one floor. It seems difficult."
"Thanks.." We break out of the hug and he helps me locate the machines.
Before I could finish the last machine, he stopped me. "Hm? What is it, Astro?"
He takes my hand and places something in it, but he closes my hand. "Don't open your hand until you get into the elevator."
"What does the thing in my hand do?"
"It protects you from twisteds by giving you more stamina and stealth when you're being chased." He smiled.
"That's very nice of you! Thank you!" I smiled back.
He sighs, "I have to go now, Shelly. But I will be watching over you to make sure you're safe." He steps back and forms a portal behind him. "Goodbye, Shelly."
"Oh..goodbye!" I waved goodbye to him before he stepped into the portal and disappeared. I finished the last machine and ran to the elevator.
I pant once the elevator door closes, I realize that I can open my hand now.
I open my hand to see a moon charm, it glows in my hand as I hold it. "Woah.."
I put it on my wrist as Dandy appears with his shop.
"Whatcha got there Shells?" He smirks.
"Oh..nothing." I hid my wrist behind my back.
"Hm..if you say so."
