Together? Forever. | Sprout x Cosmo (angst)

I came up with this at like one AM...so..😃

DING!

"Oh! The cupcakes are ready!" I exclaim as I head over to the oven, Sprout follows me.

I take the cupcakes out and put them on the counter to cool off a bit, so that way we can put frosting on them.

"Soo, how's your day going?" Sprout asked me as he leaned on the counter, he smiled.

"Oh! It was good, really good actually." I smiled at him.

"That's good, my day's been good too!"

We kept chatting for a bit until it was time to frost the cupcakes. We frosted them with Green and red frosting, our favorite colors.

Sprout yawned, it was getting a bit late since we've been making pastries for a little bit. "Is this the last batch we're gonna do, Cosmo?"

"Yeah," I yawned. "This is the last batch!" I finished the last cupcake.

Suddenly, I feel Sprout put his arms around my chest and lay his head on mine. I giggled and held one of his hands. "Wow, you must be really tired!" I teased.

"I am.." He yawned again.

"Wait, don't you have to go see Dandy? Wasn't he talking about a new experiment that he wanted to try on you and the other mains?"

"Honestly, I care more about sleeping next to you than seeing Dandy's new experiment.." When he said that, I giggled a bit.

I smiled, "Alright then, let's get some sleep." He let go and I put the cupcakes away in the fridge, we both walked to the elevator to get to his room, we held hands and went down the elevator.

Once we made it to Sprout's room, we got into pajamas and lay in bed. "Goodnight Cosmo.." He tiredly said before yawning again.

"Goodnight, my love." I yawned as well. We both closed our eyes and slowly drifted to sleep.

...

We both woke up the next morning in a strange dark room, I rubbed my eyes as I looked over at Cosmo.

"Cosmo..? Cos!" I gently shake him until he wakes up.

"Huh..? What is it..?" He tiredly asked, rubbing his eyes.

"A-Are you okay?" I cup his cheeks while looking for any damage on him that he might've gotten.

"Sprout, I'm fine!" He looked around. "Where..are we..?"

"I'm not sure..but we have to get out of here."

We both look around the room. There are pipes on the walls, the room is very dark, and there's strange black liquid all over the walls. My eyes widened as I realized what the liquid was.

"Ichor.." Ichor was a very special type of blood, it was inside of main toons and main toons only. It was only inside of the heart, too much ichor would result in something very terrible, no one has tested that theory yet..unless..

"Ichor? W-What's ichor?" Cosmo innocently asks me while holding onto my arm. The toon handlers never told the normal toons about ichor, they warned us, the main toons, to never talk about it.

"It's nothing, Cosmo.."

Cosmo looked away awkwardly and stared at a door in the corner, it was slowly opening. I turned to the door. "Who's there!?"

"...he's coming.." A strange voice said in the shadows, it was coming from the door frame and it sounded like it had a mouth full of something..could it be ichor?

"W-Who are you, and who's coming!?" I asked the mysterious figure. Now that I look at it, it has four arms..and a red star eye..

"Dandy is...coming.." I realized that it was Astro, but it was barely Astro now.

"A-Astro..?" Cosmo quietly said.

Astro just stared at us before walking off, he coughed up ichor every now and then. It got quieter as he walked away. Cosmo turned to me, "What's wrong with him..!?"

"S-Something that I don't know.." I reach for Cosmo's hand to hold onto it, my anxiety levels are almost off the charts. He holds my hand.

Suddenly, we heard footsteps, the grip of our hands tightened as we stepped away from the door.

"Well, well, well. You two are finally awake." Dandy said, stepping into the room with a big grin on his face.

"D-Dandy..?" Cosmo looked terrified, he knew something was up with Dandy.

I noticed that Dandy had red pupils in his eyes. "Why are we here, Dandy!?" I asked angerly.

"You didn't show up last night like I told you to, so now, I brought you here myself!"

"I didn't want to see your stupid experiment!" I protested while protecting Cosmo. "And plus, I was really tired."

"I don't care if you were tired, berryboy. You're lucky that you have Cosmo right now, because this is going to be painful!" Dandy pulled a needle out with ichor inside of it, the needle was medium sized.

"S-Sprout..what is he doing!?" Cosmo worryingly asked me, gripping his hand tighter.

"Cos..promise me that we'll do this together..okay?"

"Together..?" Cosmo looked at me, Dandy got closer and raised the needle.

I teared up and smiled, "Forever."

I closed my eyes and felt a sharp pain in my hand, after a few seconds, I couldn't hear or feel anything, I could only think.

"Together, forever."
