In the bustling corridors of U.A. High, I was just another student navigating through the daily rhythm of school life. I wasn't one of the most prominent heroes-in-training, but I was known for my quiet demeanor and the way I blended into the background. My quirk, Echo Strike, or what I liked to call it, E.S, allowed me to create sound waves that can be used to knock back enemies, which had become a reliable asset during training, though it didn't often draw much attention.
Out of all things, I preferred to stay under the radar, focusing on my studies and training while keeping a close-knit circle of friends.

Today was just another normal day in the halls of U.A. High School, a school that was dedicated to shaping the next generation of heroes. Before I knew it, morning classes went by in a flash and it was finally time to eat.
I was supposed to have lunch with my girls today. Momo, Uraraka, Tsuyu, and Mina were already waiting for me by the exit of our classroom, but something about the noisy environment made me hesitate. I wasn't in the mood for the lively atmosphere today. Instead, I wanted a quiet moment for myself-just a little break from the usual routine.
"You coming?" Mina had asked, smiling brightly as usual.
I smiled back and shook my head. "Sorry, but I think I'll just read outside for a bit. I'll catch up with you guys later."
"Suit yourself!" she said with a playful shrug, the other girls waving goodbye before proceeding to head off towards the cafeteria.
With my book in hand, I made my way through the halls and out onto the school grounds. The air was fresh, the light breeze calming. It felt nice to get away from the crowd for a little while. There was a spot just by the window of the cafeteria where I liked to sit. A quiet, shaded and perfect spot for reading.
As I sat down and opened my book, I heard a soft rustling nearby. Curiosity piqued, I glanced up and spotted a small stray cat, thin and scruffy, lurking near the bushes. My heart melted at the sight. The poor thing looked hungry, its wide eyes watching me cautiously, as if trying to figure out if I was a friend or foe.
I closed my book and reached into my bag, pulling out a small sandwich I had packed for later. "Hey there," I whispered, tearing off a small piece and holding it out. "You hungry?"
The cat hesitated for a moment before slowly inching forward, sniffing the air. I smiled softly as it crept closer, finally taking the food from my hand. Its tiny paws were delicate as it ate, and I felt a strange sense of peace watching it, almost like this was exactly what I needed-a quiet moment of connection.
I stayed there for a while, feeding the cat bit by bit and enjoyed the stillness.
For now, all that mattered was this brief moment of calm with the little stray at my feet.

The cafeteria at U.A. High was buzzing with life. Students from all courses gathered during lunch, enjoying a brief respite from their intense training sessions, tables were occupied by students from different classes and their friends.
Bakugou sat with his usual group of friends-Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero-his tray piled with food. Despite the noise and chatter, he barely engaged with the conversation around him, too busy shoveling food into his mouth.
"So, Bakugou, you heard about the upcoming school festival?" Kirishima asked, leaning across the table, smirking at his friend. "Think they'll make you participate after what happened back at the UA Sports festival?"
Bakugou grunted, not particularly interested in anything that wasn't related to training or getting stronger. "Tch, bastard. As long as it doesn't waste my time, I don't care."
Kaminari sighs and shoves a piece of steak in his mouth, "Man, you're always so intense. Lighten up, would ya?"
"Kaminari's got a point, man. You should really loosen up that attitude around us," Sero said, giving Bakugou a gentle pat on the back, cautious not to push too hard. The last thing he wanted was another explosive reaction from the blonde.
Before Bakugou could snap back, something caught his attention by the window. He paused mid-bite, his sharp eyes narrowing. Outside, just beyond the glass, was a student kneeling on the grass, feeding a small, scruffy stray cat.
He recognized her, though only barely. You weren't in his close circle of friends-more of an acquaintance, really. The kind of person he'd see in passing during classes or around the school grounds. You never stood out to him before. Until just now.
"What are you looking at, Bakubro?" Sero followed his gaze, his eyebrows raising as he spotted you outside. "Oh, it's Y/N."
Kirishima leaned over, curious. "Y/N? What's she doing?"
"Looks like she's feeding a cat," Kaminari said, grinning as he peeked over Bakugou's shoulder. "Didn't know we had strays hanging around the school."
Bakugou scowled, tearing his gaze away from the window. "What a waste of time," he muttered, though something about the scene had clearly caught his interest. He didn't understand why it bothered him-why he kept thinking about it as he returned to his meal.
"It's kind of sweet, don't you think?" Kirishima said, smiling. "Taking care of animals like that."
"Whatever," Bakugou grumbled, though he found his eyes drifting back to the window every so often.
You were still there, crouched down with a gentle smile on your face as the stray cat nudged your hand for more food. It was strange, the way you seemed completely absorbed in the moment, as if nothing else in the world mattered. He wasn't sure why he noticed you now. Maybe it was the quiet kindness in your actions, or maybe it was just something different from the usual noise of his day.
"Hey, Bakugou, you've been staring for a while," Kaminari teased, smirking. "You interested in Y/N or something?"
Bakugou shot him a deadly glare. "Shut it, dumbass! I'm not interested in anyone."
Kirishima, ever the peacemaker, chuckled softly. "It's cool, man. We just noticed you were distracted."
Sero nudged Kirishima, lowering his voice as he glanced toward you again. "You think Bakugou's got a soft spot for the quiet types?"
Bakugou slammed his fist on the table, sending cutlery rattling. Nearby students flinched at the loud noise, and within seconds, the entire cafeteria went silent, all eyes turning toward the source of the commotion, wondering what had set Bakugou off this time.
"I said shut up!" he barked, standing abruptly. "I'm done with this. I've got better things to do than sit around listening to you idiots."
Without another word, he stormed out of the cafeteria, leaving his friends snickering behind him. As he walked through the halls, he couldn't shake the image of you kneeling by the window, feeding that stray cat with a serene smile on your face. It annoyed him. Not you specifically, but the way you lingered in his mind, like a problem he couldn't solve.
