Lara woke up suddenly, feeling a renewed energy she hadn't experienced in days. Her vital signs were normal, and the exhaustion that had weighed her down earlier seemed to have completely disappeared. Dr. Anderson, seeing the positive results, sent a message over the medical bay's intercom.
- Lara, good morning. Your vital signs have improved remarkably. It seems the treatment has taken effect.
Still groggy, Lara got out of bed, feeling a slight twinge around her navel, but she decided to brush it off. She dressed in something comfortable and headed to the dining area to make herself something to eat. The atmosphere aboard the ship was peaceful, with most of the crew busy with their tasks.
Meanwhile, on the lunar surface, Olivia, David, and Sara were hard at work. The exterior was buzzing with activity as they made adjustments to ensure the mission's success. Olivia, smiling, said to David while adjusting one of the communication antennas:
- Well, everything seems to be in order here. How are we doing with the equipment setup?
David, his gaze fixed on the control panels, replied:
- We're almost ready. Just need to calibrate a few sensors and make sure the communication with the ship is stable. Sara, how's the terrain analysis coming along?
Sara, one hand on her visor and the other on her equipment controls, answered:
- All good. The data looks fine, though there are a few anomalies we should examine more closely. But overall, we're progressing as planned.
Back on the ship, Lara was preparing a light breakfast while chatting with Dr. Anderson over the intercom:
- Dr. Anderson, can I ask you something? I've felt a slight discomfort in my navel since I woke up. Is that something I should be worried about?
Dr. Anderson responded calmly:
- There don't seem to be any signs of serious complications, Lara. But keep an eye on it. If the discomfort persists or gets worse, let me know immediately.
Lara nodded, though she wasn't entirely convinced, and continued preparing something to eat.
Karen, walking into the dining area with a cup of coffee in hand, saw Lara making her breakfast. Without thinking twice, she quietly approached and hugged her from behind, causing Lara to jump and scream in fright.
- Ahhh! - Lara exclaimed, quickly turning around with a mix of surprise and relief. Seeing Karen, her face relaxed into a smile. - Karen! I didn't expect to see you here.
Karen laughed, amused, placing her cup of coffee on a nearby table.
- Sorry, Lara. I couldn't resist scaring you a little. I'm so glad to see you're feeling better! - Karen said, hugging her again.
They both started laughing together, the tension from the previous moment disappearing instantly. Lara, with a wide smile, commented as they sat down at the table:
