JULES
I reach for the dream, but a snake of consciousness strikes my head, making me blink from the stinging reality. I don't fall out of my bed this time-this time? What am I talking about. Something buzzes at my side. I reach under me, and pull out my phone. Someone had texted me-
I didn't recognize this number, and all the texts were to myself but on this day-
[This is a long shot-hope you can see this]
[Go with Rafe]
[We have talked to him, he will let you-]
[The clock is ticking lol]
[//time passed //]
[Password for the elevator: 2141]
[Work quickly gl my guy]
I just stare at it-in my dream (I push away the memory of those mutated smiles) i was warned that the world ends at 12:03. But this is getting really creepy. I slip the phone back into my pocket, and pull on some sneakers. Its too early to do anything but run. I need to run. I open my door, trying to soften my steps on the red rug, i really don't want to wake up Rafe, and open the front door. I glance back at the hallway, the hair at the back of my neck standing on end. The little trinkets and papers morphed into eyes and teeth willing me to come back. Dark shadows shifted, coming for me. I slam the door and sprint for the streets.

I never payed attention to science. Or any of my subjects-I've never known what I wanted to do. Rafe was the only objective for a while-to befriend him at first. Then, we hung out more-I learnt he was a massive nerd. While I avoided my life, I never lost that just deep want for him. The worst moment in my life, was that morning-
Rafe slammed through the door, waking me up.
The room hasn't changed much, but it had this sought of tint to it like a mint condition figure you shouldn't open. One that shouldn't be broken into and explored. Though one of the tables has been disturbed. Something sharp hits the back of my head-I remember us coming here before. Rafe fell. But when I tried to remember more, I couldn't pull up any memories. Like a lock.
Rafe wastes no time punching in the code. And before I can get a baring of my surroundings, I am called. I walk up to Rafe, and look back on the room.
"We're going down."
He reminds me. I nod. This elevator also looks familiar. The same florescent white lights against cheap blue paint. A hum seemed to grow louder and louder. The same as what? I try and reach for a memory, but I can't break that lock.
I wonder if Rafe feels that too.
"We're going to get through this." I said.
"Don't be so certain. We don't know what this even is-"
"Sure we do. It's a broken elevator."
"It's more then that."
I opened opened my mouth to speak, but the elevator answered, opening it's doors.
Rafe stepped in front, giving me the cold shoulder. He's usually the one stating facts-maybe a went too far. I shouldn't of said anything. I followed his stride, overthinking every gesture and movement.

RAFE
I tried to even my breathing. I shouldn't of even spoken to that-
"Who's there?"
The familiar voice seemed to sooth my growing fire. Bent down in a box of parts, Dr. Jorts fished around, sleeves rolled up. Her coat was an off white from the projects she's done, as well as it being marked with a few students signatures. I brushed down my jacket, ridding any debris.
