ACE'S POV

"... ooh please. Are you serious right now? Of course I do and it has nothing to do with those assholes. What? Is he on this too? This is starting to sound funny... the fuck? This is my company and I do the hell I want with it... If they have a problem with it they can shove their money up... ooh come one. Why can't I? Anyway talk later I have to go."

After hanging up the call I threw it to the sofa in frustration. Did they think that I could really shiver at their threats?

Jace held his hand to stop me from saying whatever it was and I rolled my eyes. Maybe it was one of all those assholes talking to him.

He ended the call and gave me a strange look.

"What now! Do I have to marry the president's daughter now?" I said to him massaging my throbbing head.

"Miss Black wants to meet." That made me halt.

Why was she changing her mind so sudden?

"Are you going to use the same Café?" he signaled to me that she was still on the line.

"Tell her that we are picking her up where she is." I wanted to know that no one was following her as well. This was supposed to be between me and her. No one needed to know that we were going to go into a contractual marriage.

Mostly my parents.

A few minutes later Jace stopped in front of a sidewalk and she approached the car window, hugging herself defensively. I almost didn't recognize her. That night she had a lot of makeup and I was tipsy to take note of her clear features. He circled the car to open the car door for her to get in.

I shook my head in amusement. He was already treating her like my fiancée.

She mouthed a thank you as she sat beside me.

Our eyes met and I held her gaze.

I couldn't look away for a brief moment.

As if realizing what she was doing she dropped her gaze to her hands which were fumbling with her duffle bag.

"Hazel!"

It felt strange calling her name again after that blur night. Her head stayed hung low.

Was she scared or was she embarrassed? Her blushing neck proved to be the latter.

"Mr. Donovan."

I raised a brow at her.

"Not Ace today? Last time I checked you liked it and you couldn't stop scre..." I was interrupted by her little hands which abruptly covered my mouth.

Her eyes were begging me to stop.

She was embarrassed. I took it before she could withdraw it and held it in mine for a little longer.

"I'm sorry about your dad by the way."

At the mention of her dad she quickly pulled her small hand from mine and I missed the warmth.

I sat back and looked outside in the distance. Silence fell between us.

"Where are the papers? I need to leave right away."

Her small voice brought me back to earth. I knocked on the car window to gain Jace's attention.

He had stayed out to give us privacy. He opened the door on the driver's seat and started the engine but Hazel seemed to have a different idea.
