In Sidney's dorm, she was sleeping when the phone rang. She wakes up and answers it.

Sidney: Hello? Hello?

???: Hello, Sindey.

Sidney: Yes?

???: What's your favorite scary movie?

Sidney: Who is this?

???: Guess.

Sidney checks the caller and sees the name.

Sidney: Cory Gillis, 555-0176.

Cory: Oh, shit!

Sidney: Hot flash, Cory

Cory: Shit!

Sidney: Prank calls are a criminal offense prosecuted under penal code 653-M.

Cory hangs up.

Sidney: Hope you enjoyed the movie.

She then sees her friend and roommate, Hallie McDaniel come over.

Hallie: Time to change numbers again?

Sidney: No. It'll die off. Its opening weekend. We'll see how it goes.

Hallie: Okay.

Hallie then turns on the TV.

Man: You know, Ron, uh, it's not an easy thing to be accused of a crime you didn't commit, particularly one as heinous as murder.

Ron: But how do people treat you now that they know the truth about your innocence?

Man: Most people are cool. There's some who still keep a safe distance, which is odd for me, 'cause I've always been sort of a people person.

Ron: But you were wrongly accused! You were fully exonerated.

Man: Yeah, well, that and a nickel will get you a cup of coffee. Even that's not true anymore.

Ron: Well, certainly, with Gale Weathers' book- and now the movie it's set the record straight for Cotton Weary.

Man: One would think.

Ron: But, uh, Gale's- Gale's been terrific.

Hallie: Hey! Move your ass, okay? You're late. Don't forget about the martini mixer tonight at the Delta Lambda Zetas.

Sidney: I don't think I'm going to be able to make it, Hal.

Hallie: What? Don't even try to bag, okay? 'Cause you promised me.

Sidney: A vague promise at best.

Hallie: Nobody's asking you to join, okay? It's a party. Free beer, meet the girls.

Sidney: Hallie, you know me and organized religion.

Hallie: It's a sorority.

Sidney: Worse.

Hallie: Look, Sid, just lower the walls for the next few days. This self-induced isolation you got goin' is not healthy.

Sidney: I'm fine.

Hallie: "I'm fine." Yes, I know. "I'm fine" is stretched tightly across your face.

One of the neighbors ran up to them.

Teenage Girl: Check out the news.

Hallie goes back to their dorm room and sees the news as Sidney then joins.
