It took almost forever for us- For them to arrive. As the city up ahead was a mass maze, that I-she would soon learn to navigate. And that city is a place. She will unknowingly thrive.
By the time they got there, the sky was dark and cloudy, and the whole city was a light. The yellow, green, and blue lights fascinated the fourteen year old girl, as they would rise up in this elevator to the very top. Once at the top, the doors opened, and a whirl of light, extravagant stairs, the light bouncing off the tiles, along with about four people standing nearby welcoming Mr. Trebor home. As Elora steadily followed behind him, not really used to this as it has been years since she has been in a home this lavish. Suddenly, a shout from the top of the stairs echoed down in a high-pitched tone. “Welcome Home Darling!!~” She would come down in this deluxe suit embellished with hints of gold. Her hair, up in a chignon du cou. Her blonde hair shone like the morning sun as she rushed down the stairs to hug her husband and kiss him on the cheek. “So, How was your day? Mi amor~” She asks, clearly not noticing Elora behind him. That is, till he got a glimpse at the little girl before he as she backed for a moment. Her non-nasally voice lowered itself to the point that it was almost masculine as if she was in shock. “Oliver Michael Trebor! You did not!” She said with a smile growing on her face. She then asked “Who’d you kill this time?” He responded with a laugh. “No one, I promise! This kid’s parents were already dead when I found her! Though, I’d have to do more research to see if anyone if look-'' Elora then interrupted. “No, one is looking for me. I only had my Dad, but he’s gone now, too.” Her voice got high pitched again as she reacted. “This Poor Dear! Oliver! I can’t believe you!”
“Don’t worry, Caden! This is only a trial run-” As Oliver was talking and wasn’t paying attention his wife was already inspecting Elora, as she looked at her face, tilting her head all around, noticing Elora’s pointed ears, and finally her horns as she took off the hat. Her eyes go wide with worry and her voice quiet. “You poor darling… How have you even survived this long!? Without being caught!?!” Oliver is then quiet as he is watching the scene unfold.
“What do you mean?” Elora questioned.
“Do you not understand? How the mutated as they are calling them now, are heavily regulated!?” She explained.
“No, I’ve lived with my papa, in the lavender field surrounded by trees.” Elora’s eyebrows furrowed.
The lady’s face almost changes as she whirls her head around, looking at Oliver, waiting for a response.
“Angel, Look- She was just by the road- What was I supposed to do?? Leave Her There!?” He looked up in a bit of worry.
She sighed in a bit of frustration. “Alright, Mi Amor… It’s not like we can’t get in any more trouble with them than we already are.”
“Angel-”
“Oliver, you will double check that she has no one else, and while you do that I will watch over her.” She glared at Mr. Trebor. But before he could say anything else, Mrs. Trebor said in a stern voice as if she knew what he was going to say.
“No!”
“But-”
“No.”
“Lis-”
“No.
“Please?”
“Fine, Mi Amor.” she sighed.
He then smiles as if he had won some nobel prize and says. “And, in the meantime, we can have her as our alleged child, as the rumors are saying?”
“And does this child-” She glances at Elora before continuing. “Is she okay with that?”
