He leaned in and touched the now-forming bruise on her face tenderly as he frowned, “Who did this?” Elora gave her sweetest smile as she stood in the doorway and replied. “I’m Fine Papa! I just tripped! While me and my friends were playing!” He begrudgingly believed her and nodded as he told her he was gonna be heading out soon. She quickly tilted her head and questioned. “Dad? Where are you going?”

"Well, I’ll be back in a little while. Dinner is in the oven for you. And you’re a big girl now aren’t you?" He chuckled.

“But that didn’t answer my question!” She huffed.

“Well, I’ll tell you when you’re older.” His husky voice echoed.

“But I am older! You’ve been telling me this for six years now! Papa! Especially ever- ever since… That day.” She argued.

He walked up to her and patted her head. “You’re Not five anymore, I am aware, But I promise one day I will tell you. Now remember to keep the doors locked, and don’t open them for anyone while I am not here okay?”

“Okay…” She whispered.

“I Took His Words, With A Grain Of Salt. And When He Left Around Six O’clock Is When I Really Dreaded The Rest Of The Night. I Didn’t Sleep, My Mind Was Restless… He Returned At Six Forty-Eight In The Morning.”

A bit disheveled, but all the same unscathed. She ran up to him as soon as he got home and hugged him, hugging him tight. He patted her head and didn’t question why she was still up. He soon put her to bed, although it was already the next day, but she still needed her sleep. Her mind wandered as she fell asleep. Her mind trailed to that day, and the one who did that still roams free, still harming people, stealing, and ruining lives. Still, in power. She fell asleep to a mind full of open doors…

Soon will be Elora’s twelfth birthday.

A Day I Gained Powers. Much Like My Father’s. Yet very much different, more dangerous, and wild even. A Day That Is Forever Engraved In My Mind. A Day When I Come Home. My Father’s Face Is Full Of Shock, Yet He Was Not Afraid, He Just Held me…”

Her birthday started with her father cooking breakfast. Elora’s Horns had grown to match her Father’s in a similar fashion. She had an amazing morning with her father. They were enjoying the moment. Her father, after they spent the morning together and has urged her to go play with her friends, so for when she came back. He would have a surprise for his Little Flower. She left with great pride in her step and a grand smile on her face, which would soon be gone.

She ran up to her friends as soon as she saw them and yet another group she was also very familiar with… They said they had a change of heart and wanted to show her something cool and her friends that were there convinced her to go along with them. They took her around by one of the old houses that was surrounded by a brick wall. They pulled her along when she tried to turn back. They all entered a room that was lit up by a singular window that was rusted shut. She then turned with her back, facing the window to the group of five facing her. “S-so what did you guys want to show me?” She stuttered as her legs quivered as they moved forward, and she moved back till she was against the window. One of them then gets up in her face and snarls. “What's with those horns? Are You even human? Because My mom said your family are bad people, and humans don’t have horns!”

Another then says backing them up. “Well Technically speaking, I Heard they used to be humans. Bone-chilling isn’t it? So, maybe they did some sort of satanic ritual?!” She then tries to get a word in. “But!-” The other two then interrupted and said in agreement. “Yeah. So we can’t be hanging out with you anymore. You’re just too weird.”
