This obscure patrol route has never been used by either visitors nor rogues. There is nothing this far north of our territory yet here, today of all days, trouble is found. I groan eyeing the rogue that was spotted further south a few days ago.
"*Alpha we finally cornered that black rogue near the northern territory but there is a problem.*"
"*What kind of problem? Just end the rogue and move on. We don't have enough time to waste on such things-*"
"*Alpha just get over here. Before anymore warriors are injured.*"
"*Is the rogue that dangerous Beta Jon? You can't even handle it?*"
"*Indeed...*"
"*Stay put and don't let them escape.*"
Yeah as if she would try to escape... I glance at the female. Her feral snarls echo loudly around us but not enough to hide the whimpers of pups hiding beneath her massive blacken body.
I stare into her deep blue eyes, blinding fury storming rampant in them. Swirls of sliver flicker steadily, I can't see a way to take her down and not hurt the children.
I chance a look, I flick my eyes downwards. I can barely make out the two small snouts sticking out near her back legs. Her dense coat nearly hiding them perfectly.
She snaps her muzzle loudly, pulling my attention back to her. She steps forward slightly, daring me to try and come closer. Soon a few lower grumbles roll out between her snarling, and she slowly starts to back up.
Keeping her rear against the rock cliff, trying to move closer to the forest. The range of vocals and sounds she uses is astounding, I am fairly certain she is signaling her pups.
My team moves in unison regardless, keeping her in the center. No matter what there are no gaps for her to rush for. Not if she plans on keeping the pups under her.
"Listen why don't you just give up? There is no way you can escape this situation." I take a step towards her, crossing my arms.
She lowers her head and fluffs her tail out, exposing her fangs in the process. A very deep and threatening growl rolled from her muzzle, so very feral.
Suddenly she launches herself sideways slaming against the wolves closet to the forest edge. I watch unable to move, as two white blurs sprint over her body. She watches as the two pups disappear before following them instantly.
Her body no longer needed to hold down the guards. Shaking my head of the shock, I shift and give chase once more. It doesn't take long before we catch up to her again.
Upon her back the two small children sit, their little hands gripping the black fur tightly. If they shifted back, it shouldn't be long before their mother shifts too.
Catching the scent of my Alpha closing in I back off her a bit, knowing I'd just be in his way.
Jackson slams into her body hard, sending the 3 rogues flying sideways. The pups hit the ground loudly, their form as wolves once more. They lay motionless a few feet behind the she wolf.
The scent of fresh blood reaches my nose, the pups injured and bleeding from the impact. Though in this moment now, it isn't them that holds my attention. I thought this rogue was fierce already, but as she stands facing my Alpha I can't stop the terror flooding me.
Her eyes are glowing a pure silver, no trace of calmness present. She lunges for Jackson, snapping at him wildly. He jumps over her, avoiding the assault. He locks eyes with me then flicks his gaze to the children.
Understanding his silent order, I send the warriors to retrieve them while Alpha Jackson has her complete attention. It has been 30 minutes and the she wolf is holding her own evenly with my Alpha. It is pure insanity how powerful the rogue female is over all.
I glance at the two unconscious pups, their fur is pure white and show signs of good health. The only difference between them are the whiskers, one has black and the other white. As a shift in wind occurs, their mother finally realizes we already have her pups.
She freezes mid stride and locks eyes on the two young ones. Determination filling her gaze instantly, a ripple of blue starting to return. As she sprints towards me, her growls and snarls rising rapidly. I watch with slight pity building as Alpha Jackson jumps her from behind.
His muzzle clamping down on the back of the female's neck, finally she let her guard down. She drops under his weight instantly, her legs buckle as they skid to a stop just mere feet away from me.
Jackson releases his bite but keeps her firmly suppressed. I shift and pick the pups up by their scruff holding them out in front of me.
"Shift now female!" I demand, hatred filling her eyes, another storm starting to brew.
She growls and flicks her head sideways. I watch bewildered as she fights against Jackson's wolf, slowly getting to her feet. My Alpha growls angerly and bites into her nape hard once more, trying to force her submission.
I shake the two pups lightly, their whimpers catch her attention. "Submit now and shift!" I demand more sternly.
This time her growls are wild yet she lays down willingly. Her demeanor changing from hostile to acceptance.
The pups now both fully awake squirm anxiously in my grip. Their wolves fading and human children now facing me. I set them down letting them stand facing Alpha and their mother.
They are mere tots, barely 6 years of age. One of the white hair boys starts crying and falls to their knees. He clings to his brother's side sobbing. His brother on the other hand looks enraged. His hands balled tightly by his sides and his blue eyes locked on Jackson.
The female wolf looks at them with sorrow, her gaze drifting between the two. Whimpers escape her muzzle as she glances up at Jackson who still has a firm bite. Jackson meets my gaze as he steps backwards, he shifts taking his human form. Fury still burning hot in his eyes, he stands next to the female. Glancing between her and the kids.
"You heard my Beta! Shift now rogue!" Jackson throws his hands up angerly.
The she wolf just lays still, and shakes her head once more. Looking back to the boys as she whimpers helplessly, I watch as the braver boy takes a step forward. His bother seemlessly moving with him while tears stain his puffy cheeks. I watch in silence as the boy let's out a threatening growl for his size.
His eyes challenging Jackson as he speaks, "Mother wolf won't shift! Stop bullying her, you mean wolves!"
Jackson flicks his gaze to the brave boy, the smaller boy clinging tighter to the side of his leg now. I watch as Alpha steps up to the bravest kid I have ever seen. Before he could grab him the female lunges forward with movement I couldn't see.
Her body landing over the twins just like before, hiding them beneath her. She keeps herself low to the ground defensively yet not threatening.
Jackson straightens up, "Do you wish for them to join you in the cells rogue?"
Her growl is different but she does rise up alittle, letting the boys climb out from under her. She lays down next to them and wraps her tail over the little bodies, another hush of grumbles lowly echo from her chest. I watch the weaker boy inch closer to his mother, his body climbing up on to her back.
"What are your names?" Jackson ask the twin brothers.
"We don't remember." The braver one states.
"How can both of you shift already?" Alpha questions curtly.
"We don't know."
"Why won't your mother shift?" He growls staring her down.
"We have never seen her shift like us."
"What happened to your pack?"
"It has always been us since we can remember."
To everyone's shock a strange and hoarse voice spoke very brokenly. Completely throwing off the conversation between the pups and Jackson.
"Pu.....ge....nec." The female growled, her eyes on the brave boy.
"Um what!?" I blink a few times dumbfounded by this rogue.
"How long have you been wolf?" Alpha questions over me, ignoring bewilderment the rest of us are feeling.
A puzzled expression flickers across the rogue's features before she looks at my Alpha. She shakes her head pointedly, not sure what she is trying to convey.
"Do you ever remember being in human form?"
She shakes her head sideways again.
"These pups, are they really related to you?"
She shakes her head again.
"You found them?"
She nudges the braver boy with her snout, lifting her head up exposing the underside of her neck. The boy reaches into her fur and starts looking for something. After a few minutes, he pulls a small satchel off her. The boy then tosses it away hastily, wiping his hands on black rogue.
"What is this?" Jackson walks towards it, reaching out to pick it up.
The she wolf throws her head back releasing a howl so powerful, it reverberates for miles. The boys were already safely on her back by the time anyone has a chance to react, the sounds of snapping bones and tearing flesh start.
Jackson and I jump backwards as the rogue starts shifting but not to anything we have ever seen before. The female rogue grows 3x in size, nearly 8 feet tall at her shoulders now. Before we could act, the rogue leaps over us with extreme ease and disappears into the darkness. Not even a scent trail is left behind.
I watch cautiously as Jackson walks over again and picks up the satchel, he eyes it carefully.
"Do you recognize this insignia?" He ask me quickly showing it.
Taking it from his hands to look closer. It is an image of a full moon with two swords crossed over it. A raven head to the left and a howling wolf to the right.
"It isn't one I recognize." I respond unsure of this entire encounter now.
"What is inside it?" Alpha Jackson is telling me to investigate further.
"Smells of wolfsbaine, silver and something else.. And a stone of sorts as well." I state, unsure of that to make of all this.
"Sounds like witchcraft." Jackson's face is long, he runs a hand through his hair exhausted. "It has just been one gaint mess after another. Do you you think it's possible that female is actually a Lycan trying to hide as a wolf? The conflicts that are spiking.. Could she be apart of it?"
"Those two boys were definitely werewolf Alpha, and I have to say they must be of alpha blood. Do you think they were pup napped?" I question quickly.
"Seems unlikely Beta. She protected them as kin. I think we should investigate further into this." He shakes the bag about, "As well as send Lucas and Charles with the witch, to track the rogue down but to keep out of detection."
"As you command Alpha Jackson."
Alpha Jackson turns to leave, the rest of us fall into step behind him, for we still have many things to finish. We were able to capture one of the rogues that have been launching assaults at the southern border.
