Skipping school was never something Freen would have considered on her own. But when Becky had suggested it, her eyes gleaming with a mischievous light, Freen found herself saying yes before she could think twice about it. Finals were just around the corner, and they'd both been drowning in a sea of textbooks and practice exams. The constant pressure had been building for weeks, the weight of the future pressing down on their shoulders. A break was exactly what they needed, even if it meant skipping out on a day of school.

"Where are we going?" Freen asked, unable to keep the excitement and slight nervousness from creeping into her voice.

"You'll see," Becky replied with a grin, leading the way to her car. She slid into the driver's seat with a sense of purpose, like she had been planning this escape for days. Freen hesitated only for a second before getting in beside her, feeling a thrill at doing something so out of character.

They drove for a while in comfortable silence, the bustling city of Bangkok slowly giving way to quieter roads fringed with greenery. Becky's car wound through narrow lanes, taking turns that Freen didn't recognize. She could feel her heart pounding, a mix of anticipation and something else—something she couldn't quite put into words.

The cityscape faded behind them, replaced by the peaceful expanse of the countryside. Finally, Becky turned onto a dirt road that led to a secluded spot by a lake, its surface shimmering in the midday sun. The place was quiet, hidden away from the world, as if it existed solely for them.

"Here we are," Becky said, her voice softer now, almost reverent. She parked the car and turned to Freen with a shy smile. "I found this place a while ago. It's my escape when everything feels like too much."

Freen looked out at the tranquil scene—the still water, the trees swaying gently in the breeze, the way the sunlight played on the surface of the lake. It was beautiful, serene, and utterly unexpected. "It's perfect," she whispered, feeling an inexplicable sense of calm settle over her.

"Come on," Becky said, her voice breaking the spell. She hopped out of the car, and Freen followed suit. They made their way down to the water's edge, the sounds of the world fading into the background.

As they walked side by side along the lake, their hands brushed occasionally, sending jolts of electricity through Freen with each fleeting touch. Each time it happened, she felt a warmth spread through her, an unfamiliar sensation that both thrilled and scared her. She tried to focus on the surroundings—the vibrant green of the trees, the warmth of the sun on her skin—but it was impossible to ignore the pull she felt toward Becky.

They found a spot to sit, a flat rock that jutted out over the water. Becky sat close, their shoulders touching, her presence both comforting and disconcerting. Freen's heart raced, and she couldn't tell if it was from the spontaneity of the day or something more. She could feel every point of contact between them, the heat from Becky's body seeping into her own, creating a heady mix of emotions that left her feeling lightheaded.

Becky was unusually quiet, her gaze fixed on the lake as if lost in thought. Freen watched her from the corner of her eye, noticing the way the sunlight caught in her hair, turning it into a halo of caramel and gold. It was a sight that made her chest tighten with a mix of admiration and longing, a longing that was becoming harder to deny.

"So, what now?" Freen asked, her voice coming out more hesitant than she intended.

Becky turned to her, a slow smile spreading across her face. "Now, we enjoy the moment," she said, her eyes holding a spark of something deeper. "No plans, no pressure, just us."

Freen nodded, feeling a warmth spread through her chest at the simplicity of Becky's words. She watched as Becky leaned back on her hands, tilting her face up to the sky, a picture of carefree abandon. It was a side of Becky she didn't often see, and it made her chest tighten with a mix of admiration and something she wasn't ready to name.
