"How's Cole, by the way?" Brandy asked.
"As far as I can tell, earlier this morning, he got a panic attack. And he is not available for visitations right now."
"That sucks, I want to visit him right now if it weren't for you two." Brandy sighed and sat down the foamy soft couch and sipped his iced coffee.
After a moment, none of them wanted to talk as if they're just gonna be stagnant for the time being.
"What now?" Vermont stated while sitting on a couch at the living room of Brandy's house. "Are we just going to sit here and do nothing?"
"For starers, yeah." Brandy answered.
"What about Cole? We can't just leave him at the hospital." Mary said.
"No, I know! But..."
As Brandy was speechless, the two are just waiting eagerly for him to continue.
"Look, okay, I don't know what the heck to do right now. Cole just told me to keep you here and protect you. And he'd done enough. Do your part, and stay still." Brandy said with a confused mind.
"So you expect us to follow you like you're our boss?" Vermont stood up and raused his voice out of a boiling blood.
"It's what Cole wanted for you, okay? You'd be grateful that I did this whole running around city saving your asses off." Brandy seemed to brag about it.
"That's where you're, man. He is out there, amnesiac in that hospital. And you've got the nerves to tell us to calm up in this stupid place where we can do nothing in return? It might be what he wanted for us. But dang, I'm his best friend, and I'll do what's best for him." Vermont's voice calmed down. "Please, at least let us go and get him." He added.
Mary stood in front of them and spoke not a word.
"It's dangerous, we don't know what could happen out there. We don't even know how many men his father's got." Brandy set them a cautious reminder.
While Vermont and Mary stared at him with and really wanted to risk everything
Brandy scoffs at their attitude of showing babydoll eyes, and he smiled. "It's gonna be -a ride to hell- hurtful. You sure about this?"
Vermont nodded and said, "For Cole."
Mary followed with a nod at Vermont.
"Let's go!" Vermont exclaimed.
"Wait!" Brandy stopped him and suggested something interesting. "We're gonna need disguises."
Vermont and Mary looked at each other, clueless and curious.
Later, Vermont came out from the dressing room in a plaid inner shirt and a leather coat. Paired with jeans, a lace-up shoes, a brown cowboy hat, and cool black shades.
"Yee-haw, cowboy! Looking good!" Brandy compliments.
"Do I really have to be in this Halloween costume?" Vermont disagrees with a question.
"Why? It suits you. Right, Mary?"
Vermont rolled his eyes in disappointment. "Yeah, right. This is more like Cole's taste of fashion."
Mary on the other hand, came out from another room and is dresses in a red women's coat with a white, button up shirt underneath. Paired with red pants. She was also dressed with a wig mimicking the hair of Dolly Parton. A bright red lipstick smooches through her lips, and a pair of fabulous glasses finishes the look to the highest level.
Vermont's point of view on Mary is slowed ten times, fascinated by her looks from those dangling heels to her prettying face.
"What was that?" Mary asked while reaching for Brandy's hand to assist her down the little stairs.
"Never mind... Look at you. All dressed up and fancy." Brandy strayed.
"Ooh, howdy, cowboy." Mary commented on Vermont's look since it's her first time seeing him this way.
Vermont snapped out and shook his head. "Oh, heh, thanks. You look beautiful too."
Both of them are blushing at each other. While Brandy is just watching the and asked, "Are you two... Like, um..." He puts up a heart sign by his hand with both his brows raised. "Hmm?"
"Oh, no... We're just friends." Vermont answered while blushing.
"Right... Just friends." Mary added.
"Okay! Let's do this!" Brandy changed the subject seeing their faces turning tomato red.
A big map was spread through a big table and pinned some leads to solve the mystery behind all of what they've known.
"So, Cole had an accident, here... And he was brought to... that hospital..." Brandy pinned the locations of those two events.
"He told you he was chased, right? The night you went at the bar?" Vermont inquired.
"Yeah, that's right." Brandy answered and pinned the location of the bar.
"Where did he go after that? Cause the next day, he got into the accident." Mary asked.
"I don't know about that. But from the looks of it, um... It was at 10 in the night where we met up. And the accident happened around 9:00 a.m. in the morning..." Brandy slides his fingers on his lips, trying to think so hard.
"So he probably went off somewhere first. Because the distance from the bar to the accident area is just a walking distance." Mary speculated.
"Good hypothesis, but where? This is a question worth overthinking for." Vermont added.
"Where was the direction of his car going? That might give us some clue." Brandy ignited an idea for all of them.
"Actually there's a footage of it." Vermont replied as he remembered about it back at the city cafe. "At the cafeteria just where the accident happened!"
"You saw it?" Brandy asked.
"No, but a worker there said, that their manager is the only one who can monitor it, and that we had to go back there tomorrow." Vermont responded
"Tomorrow? That's a waste of time. Plus, a manager that monitors the records of a surveillance camera? I mean shouldn't there be a technical team for that?" Brandy suspected something. "Why aren't those on the news? Are they hiding it or something?"
"Yeah, I was also wondering about that." Mary squeezed in.
"Let's just go tomorrow and see for ourselves." Vermont requested.
"No, you had the disguises, we'll go tonight and get that footage." Brandy bravely suggested without hesitation.
"Tonight? That's even worse, why not this afternoon?" Mary disagrees to his creepy plan.
"No questions, we're going there tonight at closing time. We got a footage to get."
