"Welcome to I-LAND!" Jungwon's voice boomed across the field surrounding a large building as he explained the rules of the escape room.

[Rose: I'm trying to incorporate the theme of how bad I-LAND was for ENHYPEN and all the other contestants into my story, especially compared to I-LAND 2 (R U NEXT) first by implying that the escape room (called I-LAND in my ff) was in the middle of nowhere, like what ENHYPEN said in one of their EN-O'CLOCK episodes.]

[It's a good idea... right?]

"You will be assigned into groups of 2 or more, and you will be locked in different rooms. You have to solve the puzzles to get out. You have 7 hours, and if you can't get out by then, you'll be locked in for another 5 hours, then staff will come and you'll be free to leave. You're allowed to keep your phones, but there isn't Wi-Fi and Mobile Data will be disabled as soon as you enter the building, so you can't cheat. However, you can call your friends across rooms with your phones, and this doesn't count as cheating, because some puzzles in some rooms are linked to locks in other rooms. If you don't work together, you have little-to-no chance of getting out. Understood?" He finished, breathless.

"Yes, Jungwon," All the students said in unison.

And with that, all the pupils were ushered into the large building by masked staff in black, an eerie chill settling on everyone as the clouds loomed ominously over the mansion.

"...Yuna with Sunoo, Taki with Heeseung, Ni-ki with Jungwon and Jay, and..." The girl who was reading it out paused for dramatic effect, before continuing on to the last pair:

"Sunghoon with Jake!"

The groups found each other, some arguing, some making the best out of it, as they walked warily into the building, introducing themselves to each other.

Sunghoon and Jake glared daggers at each other across the field, refusing to budge an inch towards the other.

If looks could kill, they'd both be dead by now.

Yuna and the boys' friends approached the two, trying to coax them into it.

"Come on, guys. It's Jungwon's birthday party. We should set our own needs aside for him." Jay said, staring at Jungwon intensely, making Jungwon blush furiously, before Ni-ki continued, but not without a side-eye at the other two in his group:

"Yeah, Jay-hyung is right. We might as well enjoy the night,"

"Stay out of it," Sunghoon snapped, stomping off across the lawn.

"Now that's something you don't see everyday," Sunoo noted, referring to how Sunghoon was normally quiet and went along with everything.

Jay scoffed, taking Jungwon by the wrist and into the building with a bothered Ni-ki tailing behind.

"I tried to be nice," Jay growled. "Let them kill each other for all I care,"

Jungwon tutted, wriggling his wrist out of Jay's grasp.

"You're just as bad as them, you know?"

"Oh am I now?" Jay huffed.

"Yes." Jungwon bluntly said back.

Jay scoffed again, rolling his eyes as he continued walking down the entrance. Jungwon sighed, running to catch up with him, but a hand on his shoulder held him back.

"Don't, Jungwon-hyung," a deep voice from behind whispered in his ear.

Jungwon froze for a moment, before jumping forward, out of Ni-ki's hold.
