Dylan started her sophomore year. Her and Brendon had had a few dates. They were taking things at Dylans pace. The most they did was hold hands and cuddle, with the odd kissed cheek thrown in. Dylan couldn't believe how respectful Brendon was being. Troy was jealous. He had wanted Dylan for himself. He didn't understand what she saw in Brendon. Troy knew that he was more than enough for her.
Sophomore year meant that they started going into placements and observing teachers at work, with the grade that each student was interested in. Dylan wanted to teach 1st grade, and Taylor wanted kindergarten. Annabel and Troy wanted 3rd grade. They went to a different school. Taylor and Dylan were together. They had to learn how to write a lesson plan out and what their sour is for material to teach. They also had to think up activities related to the curriculum tasks. Some were easier than others. Dylan had some great ways to help with spelling and learning easy math. She developed cards that had the word and how to sound it out.
One day, Taylor was in the teachers' lounge, writing some stuff down when Dylan walked in.
"When were you going to tell us?" Dylan said to Taylor, her hands on her hips.
"Tell you what?" Taylor was looking everywhere but at Dylan.
"You and Patrick? Since my birthday?"
"How did you find out?"
"Brendon told me. Trick told him." Taylor sighed and put her paperwork down.
"Yea, we have been seeing each other since last December."
"Omg, Taylor!" Dylan was excited. Taylor thought she would be pissed but Dylan was so excited and happy for her.
"I am over the moon for you both." Dylan said and hugged Taylor.
Panic! was going on tour very soon. Dylan would miss the guys, especially Brendon, but she knew what she was signing up for when she started dating Brendon.
After work that day, Dylan drove over to Brendons place. As she pulled into the drive, there was another car parked up.
She knocked on the front door and walked in.
"It's me, Bren!" Dylan called out. Brendon came through from the kitchen. He looked pale. He half smiled at his girlfriend. Dylan walked towards him and kissed him lightly on the lips.
"Dyl, I need to tell you something." Brendon started to say.
"Babe? Is this Dylan girl collecting her stuff now that you have dumped her?" Sarah appeared from somewhere else in the house.
"What?" Dylan said and backed towards the door again. She clutched at her chest as her breathing started to become irregular.
"Dyl?" Brendon asked, walking towards her. Sarah was standing with her hands on her hips, smirking. Everything started to become muffled and echoing at the same time. "Dylan?" Then it all went dark.
Dylan woke up, and she was on a gurney in the ER. She had an oxygen mask on, and her vitals were being monitored. She looked around, and Brendon was sat by her bedside, holding her hand. His head was looking down at the ground. Dylan groaned as she felt the pain in her head. Brendons head snapped up to look at her.
"Dylan?" Brendon said, stroking her forehead. "Baby, I am so so sorry." He sniffed, and a few tears were in his eyes. Dylan looked away and pulled her hand out of his.
"Why are you here, Brendon? Shouldn't you be with Sarah?" Dylans voice was flat and emotionless.
"What? N-n-no. I have no idea why she said what she said. Sarah only came to get some important papers that she left in my safe. I wonder if she saw you pull up. Anyway, I love you, Dylan."
Dylan looked at Brendon, surprised.
"What?" Her brow furrowed with confusion.
"There's only one woman for me, and that's you, Dylan Natalie Parker. I have loved you since day one. Before things ended with Sarah. Only I didn't realise until much later. I also wanted to be sure I wasn't rebounding after Sarah. I love you, Dylan. I am in love with you." Brendon kissed Dylan.
"I love you, Brendon." Dylan smiled and caressed his cheek.
They both leaned in and kissed. Their lips move together in sync. Dylan pulled away first.

Dylan had thought long and hard about the proposal Professor Ray put forward to put Dylans story into an information pack for other victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault. In the end, it was her mother who was the voice of reason. She pointed out that Dylans experience could help someone else, in a similar situation, get out before it gets to the point it did with her. So Dylan gave the go-ahead, and her story went nationwide. She would be totally anonymous. That was what Dylan was worried about. Although she had been prepared to share what happened with her friends, the whole country knowing who she is was a different story altogether.
When she told Brendon her decision, he was fully on board.

A week before Panic was due to leave for tour, Dylan and Brendon had dinner and then danced. She could feel herself falling more and more in love with Brendon, and it scared the crap out of her. Dylan sat in the Uber back to Brendons house mulling things, over. Brendon noticed how quiet Dylan was. He was worried that she wouldn't cope with Brendon being on tour.
"Dyl, are you ok?" He asked gently. She looked at Brendon and smiled.
"Bren, I am not sure how to start this."
"Ok?" Brendon was feeling a little worried now. Dylan sighed and sat back. She held Brendons hand and kissed it.
"It's just that the more time I spend with you, the more I am falling in love with you. It's scares me, Bren."
"Why does it scare you?" Brendon put an arm around her.
"You are the first guy that I have fallen in love with since Owen. It's weird because I thought I would never feel that for another guy, again. In fact, it's more with you." Brendon looked up at Dylan and their eyes met.
"Dyl, I feel exactly the same way about you. I love you more than I ever loved Sarah. You are my future." Dylan kissed Brendon with so much love.
