"Leave the door open" by Bruno Mars

Felix stood in front of the door that would be his home for the next two years. Anxiety gnawed at his stomach as he thought about who his roommates might be. This residence housed all the academy students, with each apartment having three bedrooms and one bathroom to share. He stared at the key in his hand, then at the door number, 2503. Taking a deep breath, he slid the key into the lock and pushed the door open.

Immediately, two heads turned toward him, and Felix froze in the doorway, his eyes widening.

You've got to be fucking kidding me.

Standing in front of him, in the flesh, was Hyunjin. The Hyunjin. The one he'd bumped into that morning, the one who was practically a legend in the academy. Apparently, bumping into him in class wasn't enough—now, it seemed fate had decided that they'd be living together, too. Felix's brain stalled as he stood there, staring for what felt like an eternity.

Hyunjin's familiar, tall frame, his long hair falling effortlessly over his sharp features, seemed almost unreal. Felix was struggling to keep his composure. How was he supposed to live with someone like Hyunjin?

But then, his gaze drifted away from Hyunjin, falling on the other guy in the room—and that's when everything really short-circuited in Felix's head.

The other guy was tall, probably around one seventy-two, with curly blond hair that looked impossibly soft. His eyes—Felix could swear they were sparkling, like actual stars flickering in them. He looked effortlessly cool, his broad shoulders and toned arms fully on display in a sleeveless shirt that made Felix's thoughts scatter in about a hundred different directions. And then there were his lips, perfectly shaped, the kind of lips that would make anyone want to kis–

No. Felix, get it together.

But his mind didn't seem to care, spiraling out of control as he kept trying to shake off those thoughts. He couldn't stop himself from admiring the way this stranger looked, from his jawline to his ridiculously toned arms, to—

No, no, no. Felix. Focus.

Before Felix could even think about what to say, the blond guy started walking toward him, a friendly smile pulling at those lips, showing dimple on his cheek. Felix's heart nearly leaped out of his chest. As he got closer, Felix couldn't help but notice how relaxed he seemed—like the kind of person who had no problem making friends in any room he walked into.

"Hey, you must be our new roommate!" The guy's voice was warm, tinged with an Australian accent that Felix immediately recognized. "I'm Chan. Nice to meet ya, mate."

Felix blinked, his brain still lagging behind. Chan. So that's his name. Felix swallowed, trying to muster some confidence as he adjusted his bag strap and offered a small smile.

"I-I'm Felix. Nice to meet you too," he stammered, feeling a bit overwhelmed by the sudden attention. His eyes flicked briefly to Hyunjin, who was still standing nearby, watching their interaction with that soft, knowing smile.

As Felix stepped further into the apartment, he took in the space around him. The room was minimalist but elegant, all white walls with sleek black accents—clean lines, polished floors, and modern furniture that gave the place a luxurious yet practical feel. It was clear that, though it was a student apartment, the academy didn't skimp on making sure the place felt premium. A long black couch sat in the center of the living room, facing a low coffee table and a flat-screen TV mounted on the wall. The kitchen, tucked into a corner, was small but chic, with black countertops and white cabinets gleaming under the overhead lights.
