Early Morning
Knock! Knock!
The sound echoed through the room as Reyard stood outside. He had come to take Luke on a tour of the academy's facilities.
"One moment!" Luke called out.
He was already up, fully awake after his usual early-morning training session. Getting up early wasn't difficult for him anymore—he'd spent the dawn practicing his newly acquired movement technique.
Finally, Luke thought as he stretched, Once I know where the training grounds are, I won't have to practice in my cramped room. More space means more precision.
A Short While Later
Luke followed Reyard as they toured the vast Knight Academy grounds. The campus was even larger than Luke had imagined. As they passed by various buildings, Reyard pointed out the key areas Luke would need to know.
First was the Library, a towering building filled with countless volumes of knowledge on combat techniques, magic theory, and knight history. "You'll find plenty of resources here,"
Next came the Training Grounds, where several other students were already honing their skills. "These grounds are open for individual and group training," Reyard explained. Luke could already feel the difference from his cramped room—this was the space he'd been craving.
They continued past the Cafeteria, a bustling area filled with students grabbing breakfast, and the various Classrooms, where lessons in swordsmanship, mana control, and strategy were taught.
Finally, Reyard stopped outside a massive building that caught Luke's eye immediately—the Arena. "You'll be spending a lot of time here," Reyard remarked with a knowing smile.
Luke nodded, but then something else piqued his interest. "What's the Exchange Hall?" he asked, noticing a nearby building.
Reyard chuckled. "Ah, the Exchange Hall. It's where you can spend your student credits to get books, weapons, items, and even trade with other students."
Luke furrowed his brow. "How do I earn credits?"
Reyard smiled. "It's pretty straightforward. You can earn credits by winning arena matches—students often bet their credits, and a streak of consecutive wins will get you even more. You'll also earn credits by passing your courses."
Luke raised an eyebrow. The academy really pushes arena participation, he thought.
Reyard continued, "There are other ways too—like taking on missions—but you're not at that level just yet."
Reyard followed by saying, "Don't worry, your credits are recorded, the only way you can lose them is if your stupid enough to give it away or traded away"
Later That Day
Luke returned to his dorm, his head buzzing with all the new information. He sat down on his bed, reflecting on what Reyard had told him. "Classes start in two days," he muttered. Plenty of time to get familiar with the Arena.
A grin spread across his face. "I think it's time for a trip to the Arena."
